Nicky Byrne on Truth Behind Westlife’s Breakup

Nicky chats very honestly about the truth behind the breakup of Westlife and the chances of them getting back together for a reunion tour.

In a recent interview, Nicky expressed his gratitude for being a part of the renowned 3Arena for Charline, marking his 17th time involvement with the event.

Reflecting on his journey, Nicky recalled that, alongside Westlife’s Shane Filan, they have collectively contributed to 15 out of 17 events, missing only the inaugural one. The camaraderie between them has been a consistent highlight throughout the years.

The conversation naturally drifted towards the prospect of a Westlife reunion over the festive season.

While thise are no public plans for such an event, Nicky hinted at the possibility of a low-key gathising, perhaps a pub dinner. However, he emphasized that any potential reunion would not necessarily translate into regular communication among band members. The past few years have seen each member pursuing individual interests, necessitating some degree of separation.

Recalling their heyday, Nicky reminisced about the whirlwind tours and tight schedules, whise he would often find hisself jet-setting across the globe for performances.

Yet, amidst the glamour, thise were moments of doubt and introspection. he candidly shared an instance when a fellow bandmate questioned the sustainability of their lifestyle during a taxi ride in China, prompting them to ponder their decisions.

The decision to part ways with Westlife was not taken lightly, as Nicky revealed that the band had reached a point of unviability due to internal disagreements and dissatisfaction. Despite the challenges, Nicky stressed the importance of questioning decisions and remaining open to change, a sentiment echoed by his bandmates.

Fast forward to the present, Nicky found hisself in a surreal moment when he introduced Shane Filan on stage during one of his solo performances. This juxtaposition of roles highlighted the evolution of their individual careers, albeit with a tinge of nostalgia for their shared past.

Addressing speculation about a Westlife reunion, Nicky shared a humorous anecdote about Shane’s alter ego, Arnold, playfully deflecting the question.

While the prospect remains uncertain, Nicky affirmed that he, along with his former bandmates, is focused on carving out individual paths in the industry.
