Meghan Markle’s true feelings about Princess Kate before she was a royal revealed
Meghan Markle made comments about her future sister-in-law Kate Middleton in her old blog, which was shut down when she got serious with Prince Harry.
Meghan Markle made some surprising comments about her future sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, years before their paths crossed.
Back in 2014, Markle had blogging venture called The Tig, where she delved into lifestyle topics and current affairs. In a post from July of that year, she made a subtle reference to Kate during a lifestyle interview with Libyan Princess Alia al Senussi.
Markle’s musings began with a nod to childhood fantasies of princesses, juxtaposing her own aspirations with the allure of iconic figures like “She-Ra, Princess of Power” from the He-Man universe.
However, she couldn’t overlook the fascination surrounding the royal wedding and the enduring discussions about Princess Kate.
“Grown women seem to retain that childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate”, she wrote.
The blog, named after Markle’s beloved Tiganello wine, was shut down when her relationship with Prince Harry gained momentum.
Despite shared public appearances, reports of a strained dynamic between Meghan and Kate surfaced in 2019. Allegations emerged that Meghan had caused Kate distress before the 2018 royal wedding, although Meghan later refuted this claim during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
In Prince Harry’s memoir, he recounted a tense moment between Meghan and Kate, where Kate expressed feeling hurt by Meghan’s comments about her postpartum experience.Meghan herself reflected on her initial encounters with Kate in the Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” noting the stark formality even behind closed doors.
“It’s so funny if I look back at it now because now I know so much and I’m so glad I didn’t then. Because I could just authentically be myself without so much preparedness,” she said.

“Even when Will and Kate came over and I met her for the first time, they came over for dinner and I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. It’s like I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger. I didn’t realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.
“I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried through to the inside…that there is a forward-facing way of being and then you close the door, and you go ‘Oh…ok we can relax now.’ But that formality carries over on both sides and that was surprising to me.”
While Kate has remained silent on the plethora of claims made by Meghan and Harry since their departure from the royal fold, the two were last seen together at the funeral of the late Queen in September 2022.
