Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have sent a very “clear signal to the Palace” with an intentional move, it has been claimed.

After stepping down from their royal roles in 2020, The royal couple were both stripped of their HRH titles. It has now been reported that their monikers could be stripped even further, as they could lose their remaining Duke and Duchess titles, according to Sarah Vine.

Writing for her Daily Mail column, Sarah discussed Sussexes recent trip to Jamaica, where they attended the Bob Marley: One Love film premiere. They were even spotted with the country’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness and his wife, the Mirror reports.

The current Prime Minister of Jamaica has long criticised the country’s relationship with the Commonwealth and the British monarchy. He even formally announced plans for the country to become an independent republic in 2022.

Weighing in on this, Sarah Vine wrote: “By choosing to break cover in such vehemently anti-monarchist company, the Duke and Duchess appear to be sending a very clear signal to the Palace.

“It appears to me that they intend to use their royal connection to undermine both the individual reputations of members of the Royal Family and that of the institution as a whole. I hope that I am wrong.”

She then went on to add that the couple are “helping to fuel anti-royalist sentiment throughout the Commonwealth and elsewhere.”

This came after the couple attended the Bob Marley film premiere in Jamaica last week, with the duo putting on a united display as they posed for photos on the red carpet after they were invited to the star-studded event by Paramount Pictures and their CEO Brian Robbins.
