Strictly’s Big Shake-Up: Bradley Walsh to Replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as Host After Duo’s Shock BBC Exit – Expected to Bring ‘Old-School Magic’ Back to Saturday Nights

Bradley Walsh has reportedly emerged as one of the leading candidates to take over hosting duties on Strictly Come Dancing following Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman’s emotional decision to leave the BBC hit.

The beloved female duo, who have fronted the series together since 2014, shocked fans last month with a heartfelt video announcing their departure after more than a decade of glitter, laughter, and Saturday night magic.

According to insiders, the BBC is eyeing The Chase presenter, 65, as a top choice — a move some see as a tribute to the late Sir Bruce Forsyth, the show’s original host. One source told The Sun that Bradley’s professionalism and charm make him a perfect fit, adding that producers “love his old-school humour and natural warmth that appeals to both older and younger viewers.”

He would likely be joined by a female co-host, with names such as Oti Mabuse, 35, and Fleur East, 38, leading the shortlist. Both women bring dance-floor experience and strong on-screen charisma, making them ideal partners for Bradley’s lively presenting style.

Meanwhile, Zoe Ball, 54, has officially thrown her hat into the ring, admitting on her Dig It podcast that hosting Strictly would be “an amazing job.” After quitting her £950,000 Radio 2 Breakfast Show earlier this year, Zoe confessed she was “shocked” to hear of Tess and Claudia’s exit and paid tribute to them, saying they’ve been “a tough act to follow.”

Zoe’s history with the franchise makes her a strong contender. She hosted It Takes Two for a decade and even reached the final of Strictly in 2005 alongside professional dancer Ian Waite. Other rumoured names include Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham and TV favourite Rylan Clark.

As speculation mounts, the BBC has declined to comment, while representatives for Bradley have also remained silent. But fans are already buzzing at the thought of the quick-witted Chase host bringing his humour and warmth to the ballroom.

With Tess and Claudia leaving behind glittering shoes to fill, it seems the battle for the Strictly spotlight has only just begun.
