Kate Garraway has revealed she suffered a secret ‘horror’ behind-the-scenes of Good Morning Britain on Monday, after her front teeth caps fell out just before she went live on air.

The TV presenter, 58, took to her Instagram on Wednesday to reveal her crooked smile to fans, as she explained the dental disaster was the result of her colliding with a taxi window.

The mortified star described how she’d had to glue her two front teeth caps back on as best she could, before rushing to an emergency dentist after filming wrapped.

However, Kate added that the temporary teeth she’d been fitted with were ‘massive’ and she jokingly lamented that she now sympathized with her pal Alan Carr.

She shared a video montage showing her cracked teeth, the broken piece of tooth cap that fell out and the tube of denture adhesive at the ready on her desk, while set to the appropriately-dramatic Vivaldi’s Winter.

She wrote: ‘Backstage dramas @gmb – & for once it’s real! Letting you in on the horror behind the scenes on Monday’s show…

‘After an unfortunate collision with a taxi window at the weekend I cracked my two front teeth caps.. of course they then fell out just before going on air.

‘All I can say is it’s hard to appear young and cool infront of a whole new team of trendy producers when you are reduced to gluing your teeth on with denture fixative at three in the morning!!!’

Poking fun at her Celebrity Traitors co-star Alan’s signature big teeth, she went on: ‘An emergency trip to dentist means now have a temporary set of fake teeth …but they are soooo massive – bless you @alancarr I now know your challenges!!

‘Just hoping they hold for @gmb tmrw from 6 a.m with @richardmadeleyofficial – glue at the ready!!!’

Kate’s post was flooded with messages from fans, who admitted to finding her misfortune hilarious, while also praising her for her honesty.

While a slew of her famous friends and GMB colleagues took to the comments to voice their shock, with Susanna Reid writing: ‘Oh my ’ and Ashley James echoing:  ‘Omg Kate!!’

Myleene Klass commiserated: ‘Noooooooooooo’ while Charlotte Hawkins penned: ‘Oh my goodness Kate!!  Hope it’s fixed soon ’.

And it is the second GMB in a row where Kate has displayed her consummate professionalism with plowing ahead in the face of catastrophe, after her colleague suffered their own unfortunate accident during Friday’s show.

Ranvir, 48, noticed her dress had burst open shortly after an advent break, turning away from the cameras as she declared: ‘Oh, my button has popped undone!’

As she quickly buttoned herself back up, her co-stars couldn’t resist making a series of cheeky jibes, with Kate joking: ‘Oh, hello!’

While Richard couldn’t hold back his laughter as he quipped: ‘What, in anticipation? Sorry, Ranvir, wrong crowd.’

‘You’ve got to know your audience, Ranvir,’ Kate continued, as the cameras quickly panned away from the presenter to give her a moment of privacy.

Off-screen, Ranvir joined in on the joking, as she added: ‘Although, everyone at home would have loved it,’ while Richard agreed: ‘I’m sure they would’ve appreciated it.’

Kate quickly offered a helping hand, holding up a sheet of paper with the headlines across Ranvir’s chest, with Richard encouraging: ‘Yes, cover her modesty.’

After fixing her buttons securely, a still giggling Ranvir struggled to get her game face back on, as Richard continued presenting his entertainment segment.
