Nadia Sawalha revealed the truth behind her swollen face after sparking concern on Thursday’s Loose Women.
The 60-year-old appeared on the latest episode of the ITV show alongside Jane Moore, 63, Sue Cleaver, 62, and Kelle Bryan, 50.
Just moments into the live programme, anchor Jane pointed out that her co-star Nadia has decided to go au naturel for the instalment.
Jane said: ‘Nads, I’ve got to ask you, you’ve got your glasses on there and not much make-up today. What’s going on?’
A fresh-faced Nadia replied: ‘Do you remember in the old, old days, you might not remember this.
‘At the beginning of Loose Women, when I was much wilder thing, I’d have my glasses on and people would email in and say “Is Nadia hungover again? That’s when she can’t get her contacts in!”

‘So it’s not that – I do look like I’ve had a bad night.’
She continued: ‘I thought it was an allergy. It started on Saturday, phoned the doctor, took antihistamines, went to the pharmacist, all of that, nothing changed.’
Jane asked: ‘Is it sore?’
Nadia told her: ‘No, it just feels a bit bruised but lovely doctor Zoe came and saw me. I had my own session with her in my dressing room.
‘I said to her, “Listen, honestly Zoe, I think it’s stress.” She said she agreed and I loved what she recommend.
‘Deep breath practice, to just take a bit of time out, I haven’t cried properly in about two or three years.
‘Not properly, I’ll cry a little bit and stop. I honestly think it’s that.
‘When we get stressed why do we not think that it will impact on our bodies?’

Nadia believes that it is a reaction to stress – and got some advice from Dr Zoe
Before heading live on air, Nadia took to Instagram to share a hilarious video, in which she recounted a conversation with her sister on phone.
Walking along the street, Nadia said: ‘With a sister like mine, who needs enemies? I was just FaceTiming her and she said are you going on loose women like that and I went yeah why?
‘And she said because you look like you’ve had three bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and fallen asleep in a hedge. And she has got a point
‘If you do turn on loose women just for a few mins today, and you don’t know for context, I’ve not had three bottles of Sauvignon Blanc, fallen asleep in a hedge.
‘I slept in my own bed actually, I’ve got something going on with my eyeballs.
‘Well not my eyeballs, it’s my eyes, but we don’t know what it is and there’s far far worse things going on in the world.
‘I’ve just got swollen eyes, if I don’t go on, I don’t get paid. So happily I go!’
She captioned the post: ‘Anyone else got a sister that ALWAYS tells you the blooming truth????’
