Emmerdale fans ‘rumble’ who killed Ray as villain murdered and suspects ‘revealed’
Emmerdale viewers learned villain Ray Walters had mysteriously died at the start of Monday’s episode, with it clear he’d been killed with someone wrapping his body in a bag
Another brutal death was revealed on Emmerdale on Monday, with villain Ray Walters killed off.
Contains spoilers from Monday’s episode. The baddie had last been seen facing the repercussions of his dark actions, with villagers turning on him. Last week saw the chilling moment he murdered his mum Celia Daniels, a fellow villain and the mastermind behind their dark drugs operation and the exploitation of workers on their farm.
Ray stabbed Celia and killed her, before telling her body that he was “free” now. He’d hoped it would mean him getting to start over with Celia out of the way, but it was all for nothing.

He soon made an enemy of himself with a number of characters, and Laurel had been told what he’d been up to. Sickened about the ordeal Ray and Celia put April and Dylan through, she told him what they had was gone, and they’d never be together.
So when Monday’s episode kicked off with a mystery body being dragged across the floor, soon revealed to be Ray, it sparked a whole new whodunnit. There was initially no inkling as to what had happened and by whom.
We saw Ray’s corpse, with his eyes still open, semi-covered by the bag. This bag was being dragged across the floor by an unknown person, no doubt the killer or someone assisting the killer.
It was towards the end of the episode, available to watch on ITVX before TV transmission on Monday morning, that we had an idea of who might have killed him. Ray’s final expression on his face was one of shock and terror.
It seems he wasn’t expecting his demise. We then saw moments throughout including people crying, people covering their tracks and random conversations.
Rhona Goskirk called someone on her phone and said “have you done it”, while Marlon was seen hiding his phone. Rhona asked him where he’d been and he made some excuses.
Not far away, Ross Barton was seen in a car with missing April. She said she’d be okay now and he said he “had her back”, but that they “better not mention this” to anyone. Whatever the “this was” remains to be revealed.
Ross turned to the backseat and there was a gun. Laurel was then shown wiping some scissors, with her hands shaking as she seemed shaken up by something. April then told Rhona and Marlon about the night in the woods with Ray.
Rhona questioned if April feared Celia and Ray would come looking for her and Marlon didn’t react as April said “maybe”. This could suggest they have no idea Ray and Celia are dead and so they are not the killer.

Of course one of them could be bluffing to cover their tracks. As April tearfully admitted she struggled with knowing she’d killed a man, unaware Callum never died, we then saw some suspects.
Rhona appeared guilty at April’s comment about “taking a man’s life”, while the camera then panned to Laurel as April spoke, with Laurel sobbing. Then we saw Ross with the gun, before the body panned to Ray’s still in the bodybag, eyes closed.
Viewers think they know who killed Ray though, with a few names being shared. Some believe it’s Dylan, while others suspected Bear and even Arthur Thomas. One fan said: “I feel Dylan killed Ray tbh.”
Another viewer said: “Guys Bear killed Ray,” as a third wrote: “Curveball suspects – Arthur Jai.” A fourth fan said: “What about Ross?” while another posted: “Did Laurel stab Ray to death?”
