Cat Deeley swipes at ‘offensive’ Jeff Brazier for ‘swanning around’ on ANOTHER holiday amid brutal ITV daytime cuts

Cat Deeley made a brutal swipe at Jeff Brazier for being ‘offensive’ and ‘swanning around’ on holiday while advertising ITV‘s new competition.

The TV presenter hit out at Jeff, 46, who appeared on This Morning via a live video link from sunny Gran Canaria, standing poolside at a hotel resort.

Cat, 49, made no secret of her envy as she and co-host Ben Shephard presented the ITV show live from their new studio at Covent Garden’s The H Club.

Meanwhile Jeff had travelled to the island, which is off the coast of Africa, after previously appearing in the Caribbean in another sun-soaked destination last week.

Cat said: ‘It wasn’t the best weekend so if you’re craving some sunshine, there’s Jeff Brazier… this is almost verging on offensive now from Jeff. He’s swanning around!’

To which Jeff quipped back: ‘It’s been tough, just feeling the sun hitting my skin, it’s really, really difficult.

‘No, I’m a team player – I’ve come here to bring you the sunshine, I know it’s chilly, it’s been wet, it’s been dull and downcast so here I am with the sunshine.’

Jeff is often seen on-location advertising ITV’s competition, which this time will see a winner take home £90,000 and an all-expenses paid trip to Gran Canaria.

He joins Andi Peters in the competition presenting spot, who also appeared alongside him in Gran Canaria as part of the competition segment.

It comes amid brutal cuts to ITV’s daytime TV schedule, which saw This Morning move studios and changed around with a brand-new set.

Last week, fans were left fuming over the new set up as the show made its debut in the new Covent Garden home of ITV‘s daytime programming.

It was announced in 2024 that the broadcaster’s daytime shows would be hit with a new schedule, with Good Morning Britain extended by half an hour, Lorraine reduced by 30 minutes, and Loose Women cut to just 30 weeks of the year.

And while This Morning’s two-and-a-half hour run time was left to air as normal, the show, like its other daytime series, has moved to a new studio in central London.

While Good Morning Britain was broadcast live from the ITN Studios, This Morning went on air from The H Club, in Covent Garden, for the first time.

It saw a major change to the set-up of the iconic This Morning studio – with the blue sofa instead on the left hand side of the studio, and a kitchen on the right.

While the screens in the background still showed London’s South Bank as they did in This Morning’s previous home, fans were left fuming at the new set up.

Viewers flooded X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain about the ‘vile’ and ‘tacky’ changes, as they compared the new studio to that of shopping channel QVC.

One penned: ‘Don’t like it, looks cramped, background screens look AI, it legit looks like they are in front of a green screen. It feels cheap and plastic…’

‘The new studio looks so small, cheap and tacky,’ a second wrote, while a third added: ‘The new studio looks proper low Budget. ITV not even trying anymore.’

Someone else wrote: ‘Hate the new studio… did they order it from TEMU?’ while another agreed: ‘Have they hired a shed?’

‘What in the QVC Shopping Channel is going on?? The new studio is vile,’ a fifth person wrote, while a sixth chimed in: ‘It’s bloody tiny?’

Another viewer concluded: ‘The cheap set walls, claustrophobic feel, cheap IKEA-looking furniture, recycled sofa, coffee table and rubbish-looking kitchen. Fail.’

Elsewhere, Good Morning Britain unveiled its new studio which was quickly mocked by viewers as looking so small that hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid have to lean back from guests.

Hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley introduced the new space as the show returned after its Christmas break – with the changes to the ITV scheduling in force

The programme returned to the airwaves today including an interview with Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch – but viewers have hit back at the new look.

Co-host Mr Balls, a former Labour shadow chancellor, posted on X: ‘New Year, New Studio – we’re off on GMB in 2026!’

But there was scathing criticism in response, including one post saying: ‘ITV cuts showing in the new set, with one writing: ‘So small, looks cheap and people sitting on top of each other.’

Another commenter said: ‘The problem with the smaller studio is when there are four people at the desk everyone leans outwards when speaking to look directly at those around them. Unfortunately in single camera shot it looks like we are constantly looking at human leaning towers.’

Mr Balls was also asked: ‘Have you replaced everyone in the gallery too? Awful camera angles, cutting cameras to the wrong shot.’

GMB viewers had been left baffled when the programme disappeared from scheduling last week, amid huge job cuts and a studio move.

Viewers were left confused as the show disappeared from their screens, with one social media user asking: ‘Where is GMB this morning?’

Meanwhile, Lorraine fans were left complaining ‘what’s the point in turning up?’ as episodes were HALVED in length from its return on Monday as ITV cuts take hold.

With a much shorter episode of Lorraine on Monday, viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on the slashed runtime.

‘Just half an hour of Lorraine now?’ one penned, as another added: ‘I wouldn’t call 9:30am – 10am all morning #lorraine.’

‘She might just as well not bother, what IS the point of turning up for just half an hour?’ a third asked, as a fourth said: ‘and the point of having Lorraine on for half an hour is ? Anyone? Anyone? #Lorraine #ThisMorning.’

While, last year a huge Loose Women cast update has revealed the fate of every panelist after a ‘tense’ few months of ‘everyone feeling on edge’ amid the ITV daytime cuts.

Back in May 2024, fans were shocked to find out that the popular show, as well as Lorraine, are set to be AXED for half the year – after the channel announced a big shake up to its daytime schedule.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
