Cat Deeley Left Frozen and Open-Mouthed Live On Air as Bob Mortimer Drops a Jaw-Dropping Insult Just Minutes Into ITV Interview!

Cat Deeley was left open-mouthed as comedian Bob Mortimer took to the This Morning sofa as he brutally joked she ‘stinks’ minutes into an interview.

The comic, who appeared on the ITV to promote his new book The Long Shoe, was quizzed by hosts Cat, 49, and Ben Shephard on his writing process, having released at least two best-selling books in the past.

Bob, 66, who is best known for appearances on the likes of panel show Would I Lie To You? and Prime Video’s Last One Laughing, got Cat involved as he recreated his set-up for writing at home.

Putting his feet up on the sofa, the comic told Cat and Ben, 50: ‘I sit on my sofa lengthways – I’ll be here with a laptop and a cat, there’s always a cat.’

‘Hold on, hold on!’ Cat exclaimed as she got up from her seat and placed herself on the floor next to Bob, pretending to be one of his beloved pets.

Patting her on the head, Bob joked: ‘Good boy!’ as Cat pretended to act like a feline, meowing in the direction of the comic sat beside her.

‘Blimey, you stink!’ the comedian then told Cat, whose jaw dropped in shock as he tried to explain: ‘No, my cat’s got dental problems… I don’t mean you.’

Quickly moving on, Bob continued: ‘My telly is there, and I write away while I watch Married At First Sight or Real Housewives, I love reality TV, I’m a big fan.’

Sitting back down on the sofa, Cat and Ben went on to quiz Bob on what viewers can expect from the new series of Last One Laughing, which sees him return as reigning champion.

Bob was the last man standing in the first series released on Prime Video earlier this year, which saw ten comedians tasked with staying in a room together without laughing.

The author made it all the way to the final alongside Richard Ayoade, before finally getting him to crack with a series of dry jokes, sat on the back of a pretend horse.

He previously broke the likes of Loose Women star Judi Love by creaking on a chair while sitting down, and nearly sent Daisy May Cooper packing with a song he’d made up, Slender People.

Teasing the return of the song, Bob revealed: ‘In the new series I’m defending champion and I think I get rid of someone via the gift of song…’

Asked whether or not the group of comedians, which also included Rob Beckett, Joe Wilkinson and Harriet Kemsley, knew the show was going to be a big hit, he added: ‘Absolutely not.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the brand-new series will be airing on TV screens in 2026 following the show’s impressive launch in March of this year.

According to Barb, the first three episodes of the show were watched by more than six million people and topped Prime Video’s UK top 10 chart.

In the upcoming series, Jimmy will once again challenge 10 of Britain’s funniest comedians to spend the day together without even cracking a smile.

Over the course of the series, the comedians will use every ounce of their talent to try to break their opponents, without breaking any rules themselves.

However, it’s not just their rivals they will need to look out for, as the show is filled with comedic elements, surprises, and hilarious twists to try and catch the stars out one by one.

The comedy programme is based on a Japanese TV show called Documental, which first landed on Amazon in 2016.

Since then, the format has been adapted for multiple countries, including Ireland, Australia, Mexico, and the UK.

Last One Laughing is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, and season 2 will air in 2026.
