Former Bachelorette Emily Maynard Johnson’s 20-year-old daughter, Ricki, is enjoying her postpartum bliss after welcoming her first baby.

“How is she real life?” Ricki gushed via her Instagram Stories on Friday, January 23, sharing a selfie with newborn Romi from a hospital bed.

Ricki also shared photos of Romi sleeping and getting her first bath.

Ricki, Maynard Johnson’s daughter with late ex-fiancé Ricky Hendrick, announced that she was expecting a baby in August 2025. Weeks later, Ricki asked her mother, 39, about her having “a baby outside marriage.” (Ricki has not publicly revealed the identity of Romi’s father.)

“Very against it,” Maynard Johnson sarcastically joked in a social media clip shared in September 2025. “I cannot believe anybody would ever do that. Unforgivable.”

Ricki was in on the joke, pretending that Maynard Johnson was “so upset” to become a grandmother at 39.

“My mom is truthfully so devastated, she’s so upset,” Ricki sarcastically quipped, sharing footage of the plethora of baby gear that Maynard Johnson already purchased for her grandchild. “She’s not excited at all for me to have a baby. She’s pissed, actually. She’s super angry. She can’t even look at me. She doesn’t support it at all. She is pissed.”

Ricki went on to sincerely praise her mom for her support, too.

“These are all things she got on her own and she is not done,” she said of Maynard’s gifts. “This is all stuff at her house too, not even my own.”

Ricki revealed earlier on Friday that she had given birth.

“Best day ever,” the new mom gushed via Instagram, sharing photos from her C-section.

Maynard Johnson and her husband, Tyler Johnson, were presumably present in the hospital, according to other post-childbirth pics.

“We became grandparents today!!” Johnson, 39, wrote via Instagram. “The feeling is inexpressible 🤍🤍🤍. This is love.”

In a second post shared via his Instagram Stories, Johnson gushed that he had “no words” after meeting baby Romi.

“What a day,” Johnson said. “Just every ounce of love I have for my baby and her baby.”

Maynard Johnson was previously engaged to NASCAR driver Hendrick before he tragically died in a 2004 plane crash while she was pregnant. Maynard Johnson gave birth to Ricki in 2005, six years before joining the Bachelor franchise. While Maynard was briefly engaged to Brad Womack after season 15 of the reality dating show, she led the next year’s The Bachelorette. Maynard Johnson ended her season engaged to Jef Holm, but they split several months later.

Maynard Johnson later moved on with Johnson, tying the knot in 2015.

“We met at church,” she said of her now-husband during a 2013 appearance on Good Morning America. “I think that’s why our relationship is so good now because we started out as friends.”

Maynard Johnson and Johnson share five children: Jennings, born in 2015, Gibson, born in 2016, Gatlin, born in 2017, Nola, born in 2020, and Jones, born in 2022. They also celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary last year.

“Somehow stronger through every storm,” Maynard Johnson wrote via Instagram in August 2025. “I’m so proud to be your wife and love you more than words.”
