BBC viewers were left distracted as they tuned in to the six o’clock news for the latest bulletins when weather presenter Elizabeth Rizzini delievered her latest forecast. Many took to social media and commented on the meteorologist’s racy outfit. The 49-year-old, who wore a short denim dress, unknowingly sent pulses racing as she flashed the lace tops of her stockings while stretching to point at the screen graphics.
In addition to the figure-hugging dress and flesh coloured stockings, Elizabeth completed her look with pointed heels and a dark red lip. As the presenter updated viewers, the stocking top was revealed on camera. Although the blunder happened during a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, it didn’t go undetected and quickly went viral on social media. As fans shared their thoughts on Xone joked: “Certainly brightens up dull weather.”

Another remarked: “Taking our minds off the miserable weather.”
“Is that a black lace stocking-top I spy on the BBC News Weather?” questioned a fellow viewer, while a fourth quipped that they’d never seen “stocking tops on the BBC before”.
A fifth commentator suggested: “Sorry to rain on your parade, but suspect they are cycling shorts or thermals”
Another explained that the stocking band could also be a part of the technical equipment required to present the show, such as a strap to support the microphone.
“There is life after Carol Kirkwood,” an X user quipped. It comes as the presenter recently announced her departure from the after 25 years with the broadcaster.

The veteran weather presenter revealed she would be stepping down, making a tearful announcement on BBC Breakfast earlier this week.
The 63-year-old first joined the broadcaster in 1998 and announced her shock departure live on air during Monday’s episode.
On the famous red sofa, Carol told her colleagues Jon Kay and Sally Nugent: “So, I’m going to be leaving and it’s really hard, really hard for me to say this because I love my job. I love all of you guys and my weather colleagues and of course all the viewers.”
In a statement on social media, the weather presenter explained: “It’s been an absolute privilege to bring you the weather every day.
“My job is something I’ve never taken for granted, and I’ve loved every minute! From early starts and all manner of forecasts, I’ve shared it with incredible colleagues at BBC Breakfast, BBC Weather and programmes across the BBC.
“I’d like to thank them for their support and friendship, which has meant the world. And to those watching and listening at home – thank you for all the kindness you have shown me over the years, being part of your mornings has been a joy.”
“This hasn’t been an easy decision to make, but it feels like the right moment to step away. I’ll carry with me the most wonderful memories,” Carol concluded.
