The festivities are well underway!
The day is here – Trooping the Colour is upon us and the royals are currently gathering to celebrate King Charles’ official birthday including Princess Kate.
Amongst the festivities, Princess Kate and her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis departed Buckingham Palace for a procession this morning (June 14).
They travelled by carriage along The Mall, where they waved and smiled at the thousands of spectators gathered to watch the procession.

Princess Kate arrives at Trooping the Colour with George, Charlotte and Louis
The Trooping the Colour ceremony includes an inspection of troops at the Horse Guards Parade as well as the famous parade along The Mall.
The event culminates with an RAF flypast over Buckingham Palace. It is here that the royals are snapped watching from the balcony of the palace, a tradition since the reign of Queen Victoria.
Currently, the Princess of Wales and her three children are joining the festivities.
Unsurprisingly, Princess Kate looked stunning in her chic ensemble. The princess has opted for a turquoise blue dress, paired stylishly with a matching hat by Juliette Botterill, decorated with blue floral pieces.
Many royal fashion lovers have speculated over the past few days over what Kate will wear today.
It is safe to say she hasn’t disappointed.
Kate is the epitome of regal style in her turquoise dress coat by Catherine Walker, decorated with the Irish Guards Regimental brooch and a pair of pearl and diamond drop earrings that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Today is a big day for children’s fashion too.
Princess Charlotte, 10, has been known to trigger a phenomena dubbed the “Charlotte Effect” after her previous appearances on Buckingham Palace’s balcony.
Her impact offers a boost to the economy, with many children’s garments inspired by her style selling out quickly after she wears them.
“Her influence, known as the ‘Charlotte Effect,’ helps drive sales,” royal expert Sharon Carpenter previously told Us Weekly. “It’s estimated that Charlotte will be worth between a whopping 3 and 4 billion pounds to the U.K. economy over her lifetime – way more than even her brother George, who will one day be king.”

Princess Charlotte matches the Princess of Wales
Today, Princess Charlotte matched with her mother in an aqua blue ensemble with puff sleeves.
Her hair is styled in an adorable half-up-half-down, finished with a braid. Charlotte is also sporting a brooch.

One social media user pointed out on X: “Oh wow so beautiful!!! I love that our Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte are matching.”
“Just when I thought Catherine is never going to wear a better outfit than 2011, she steps out wearing her best TTC look today,” gushed another.
“Love how Princess Catherine has matched her Trooping the Colour outfit to Princess Charlotte’s dress. Over the years she is becoming more and more her mother’s mini-me,” penned a third.

Someone else gushed: “Mother and daughter in matching outfits!”
At the ceremony last year, Princess Charlotte wore a navy and white number.
She also wore a similar ensemble to her mother, who stunned in a wide brimmed white hat with a navy trim and and a white dress with a navy bow at the collar.
At Trooping the Colour today, Kate and her children travelled in a carriage. Meanwhile, Prince William rode on horseback.
Princess Kate at Trooping the Colour 2025
Trooping the Colour 2025 is the first since Princess Kate shared she is in remission after her cancer diagnosis in March 2024.
Her appearance at the event last year came as a surprise due to her health woes. Shortly before the day, she had disclosed: “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.
“On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”
Since then, Princess Kate has completed her chemotherapy treatment and made an evolving return to royal duties.
