Trooping the Colour: King Charles and Queen Camilla’s ‘hidden message’ with their behaviour!

The annual Trooping the Colour ceremony was held on June 14

King Charles and Queen Camilla seemingly sent a subtle yet powerful message with their body language during the Trooping the Colour celebrations on June 14.

As thousands gathered in London for Trooping the Colour, one of the biggest talking points wasn’t just the military parade or the RAF flypast; it was the royal family’s body language, especially that of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

According to body language expert Darren Stanton, their appearance carried a “hidden message” about unity, strength and resilience.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren broke down the key visual cues displayed by the senior royals.

King Charles and Queen Camilla’s ‘hidden message’ at Trooping the Colour

Trooping the Colour marks the monarch’s official birthday with a parade.

According to Darren, King Charles, 76, looked more confident than ever during this year’s celebration, which marked his third Trooping the Colour as monarch.

“Charles had a really big beam on his face,” Darren noted. “It was clear that he was loving taking part. It was all something, obviously, his mother used to do. Charles was quite unsure of himself. But now we see a much higher level of confidence this year.”

As he watched the flypast on the palace balcony, Darren said Charles appeared “elated” and “mesmerised,” suggesting that despite having attended countless ceremonies in the past, the moment still held personal meaning.

“He seemed really excited,” Darren added. “It wasn’t forced. We could see that the laugh lines and crow’s feet around their eyes were there, signs of genuine engagement. They were genuinely happy to be there.”

The glances between Camilla and the king carry hidden messages typical of the bond visible within deep, long-standing relationships.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla‘s choice to wear white was no coincidence. Darren noted the significance of her fashion choice, describing it as a subtle signal of neutrality and serenity.

“It’s almost a spiritual colour. White is her go-to default colour when attending these sort of events,” Darren explained.

But it wasn’t just the colour of her coat that caught attention; it was her silent, affectionate exchanges with the king.

“The glances between Camilla and the king carry hidden messages typical of the bond visible within deep, long-standing relationships,” Darren noted.

“It’s clear that they’re incredibly in love. Camilla is the love of the king’s life, and their exchanged smiles and glances yesterday were really touching.”

Princess Anne at Trooping the Colour 2025

While the king and queen, 77, shared moments of warmth, Charles’ sister Princess Anne once again cemented her status as the backbone of the royal family.

“Princess Anne stood strong with her arms behind her back, that’s a very authoritarian posture,” Darren observed. “This isn’t unlike Anne. She’s known as the hardest-working royal, and she always takes her duties very seriously. ”

Darren described her as the “matriarch” of the family, quietly anchoring the group with her no-nonsense demeanour.

Darren also highlighted the emotional undercurrent of closeness and connection radiating from the royal family throughout the event.

“What is clear, which doesn’t always come across in public, is that they’re all incredibly close to each other,” he said. “William often shows signs of endearment towards his dad. Despite him being the king, he’s still his father.”

This dynamic wasn’t just between father and son.

According to Darren, the entire family projected a unified front, which is especially powerful following the challenges of recent years.

He said: “The royals are at an all-time high in terms of popularity. They also seem closer than ever. I think they are much closer than is often known or public perception.

“You do glimpse moments of that when they look at each other. You get the impression that they share a very deep love for each other, and the strength of their bond is visible in their interactions with one another. It appeared to be a faultless event.”
