Inside Princess Kate’s hair care routine
Princess Kate rocked a chic half-up-half-down style at the Order of the Garter Ceremony 2025 in Windsor. Styled in a way to compliment her Sean Barrett hat, Kate’s hair could be seen tumbling way past her shoulders.
Consultant Trichologist, a specialist in the study of hair and scalp conditions including hair loss, Eva Proudman has explained how Kate may have achieved her Rapunzel like locks.
“Whether you’re a princess or just a regular girl, long hair needs to be looked after,” Eva explained to HELLO!.
“In simple terms, the longer the hair, the ‘older’ the hair and the more susceptible to damage (particularly at the ends) so there’s no doubt (nor surprise!) that Catherine, the Princess of Wales, will have a great hair care regime, with a hydrating and protecting shampoo/conditioner at the very root of her daily routine.”

How is Kate Middleton’s hair so thick?
Trichologist Eva went on to describe how Kate’s overall wellness could contribute to how thick and long her hair is.
Eva went on to emphasise how Kate’s diet likely plays a role.

She said: “I cannot emphasise how much a healthy diet impacts the hair of our health – particularly growth – so I’m sure that Catherine follows a well-balanced diet, packed full of protein, rich in iron and containing a colourful mix of vegetables, fruit and healthy fat, too.”
Kate’s healthy diet has widely been reported over the years. Even more so since Kate has been in remission after battling cancer and undergoing months of treatment.
It’s not known for certain what Kate eats every day, but there has been glimpses into Kate’s diet.

Kate Middleton’s diet
Kate is said to enjoy a healthy smoothie for breakfast. The Princess of Wales allegedly blends a combination of kale, spirulina, matcha, spinach, romaine, coriander leaves and blueberries for a nutritious morning drink.
Princess Kate is also said to enjoy a hearty bowl of oatmeal alongside her green smoothie.
In just her morning meal alone, Kate has likely already consumed an array of vitamins.
Notably, a lot of vitamin C, which is very important for hair growth.
Berries, spinach and spirulina are all praised for their nutrients. They all boast proteins, vitamins and antioxidants which can benefit hair health.
Even oatmeal can improve hair health as it is jam-packed with minerals like potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron.
Princess of Wales’ sleep routine
Hair expert Eva also highlighted the importance of sleep, as the amount of rest you are getting can also play a part.
Eva concluded: “But, in essence, good hair health and keeping long, luscious locks in tip top condition takes work – so Kate and her stylist are obviously doing a great job and making a concerted effort to maintain such beautiful hair, which always looks in fabulous condition.”
Although Kate’s sleep routine hasn’t been shared, it seems she has been prioritising the a balance between her work and home life.
Even today, June 18, it has been reported that Princess Kate has pulled out of her appearance at Royal Ascot – unsurprising after the busy past few days she has had.
