The blunder made headlines around the world…
Princess Kate Middleton made headlines all around the world yesterday when she pulled out of her appearance from Royal Ascot in an update unexpectedly, and sources say she’s finding the right balance after her cancer fight.
The royal had initially been billed to ride in the second carriage with her husband Prince William on Wednesday, June 18. However, a mere 22 minutes later, and a new carriage list was released and her name was swiftly removed from the procession. William, on the other hand, had been moved to sit with his father and stepmother and Saudi Arabia royalty in the first carriage.
Now, one royal commentator has given an update on Princess Kate Middleton’s absence from Royal Ascot as she slowly returns to royal duties following her cancer battle.

Princess of Wales drops out of Royal Ascot
Catherine, who is making a gradual return to the royal fold after taking a step back last year to battle cancer, pulled out from the appearance.
She had planned to attend the day, but is trying to find the right balance as she returns to public engagements, royal sources said.
They added Kate was disappointed to miss the big sporting event. Kensington Palace confirmed she would not be at the races yesterday.
Initially, the Prince and Princess of Wales were set to arrive in the second carriage with golfer Justin Rose and Kate Phillips.
Prince William handed out race prizes later on in the day to the winners.
Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, attended the event despite her daughter’s absence. Fans gushed over her and William’s relationship.
It came after the mum-of-three was seen attending Trooping the Colour on Saturday, V&A East Storehouse museum on June 10 and the Order of the Garter earlier this week.

Princess Kate Middleton is in remission in latest cancer update
Richard Eden wrote in the Mail, that a source has said that the Princess Kate Middleton is trying to not ‘overdo things’ after telling fans she was in remission from cancer in an update in January,
They claimed: “Catherine knows she should not overdo things. She is grateful that her recovery has gone well, but things have not been plain sailing.
“She had a busy day at Trooping the Colour at the weekend and, if she’s feeling slightly under the weather, it’s better that she takes it easy.”
Other sources blamed the racecourse for the confusion on whether Kate would attend. They insisted Kensington Palace had notified Ascot that she would not be there on the day, but wires were crossed.

In the recent cancer updates from Princess Kate Middleton, she explained she had ended her treatment in September 2024. By January of 2025, she released an intimate video with her family where she explained she was in remission.
She said at the time: “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal.
“I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”
