The visit was nine years ago now
Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly made a discreet visit without security during their royal trip to India in 2016.
The Prince and Princess of Wales visited India in April 2016 for a royal tour.
The news comes just weeks after William’s younger brother Prince Harry lost his court case regarding his security while in the UK.

Prince William and Kate Middleton made ‘no security’ visit in India
As reported by the MailOnline, speaking at the recent Jaipur Literature Festival London reception at the British Library, Sanjoy Roy – the co-founder of the Salaam Baalak Trust centre at New Delhi railway station – opened up about the royals’ visit.
Kate and William paid a visit to the centre in India to meet with vulnerable children. The Salaam Baalak Trust centre provides food, healthcare and education to children in need.
I tried to dissuade them, saying, ‘No can do – it’s too dangerous. Just don’t come.’
Roy claimed that the royals’ representatives assured him that they were happy to visit without any security. Despite his attempts to dissuade them, William and Kate remained determined.
“I tried to dissuade them, saying, ‘No can do – it’s too dangerous. Just don’t come.’ But Will and Kate said, ‘No, we really want to,’” Roy said.

Roy’s concerns came from previous high-profile visits that had gone badly.
“We’d had Tony and Cherie Blair come before; they did this whole thing with our street kids. It was just a circus. I didn’t want a circus for the kids. The press came. It was just not nice,” he explained.
“But here, William and Catherine, they were so wonderfully respectful,” he then gushed.
The children the royals met that day were particularly vulnerable and were largely victims of physical and sexual violence, trafficking and gang exploitation.
William and Kate’s decision to ditch their security that day showed their commitment to connecting directly with those who needed help.

Prince Harry’s security row
Roy’s revelation comes just weeks after Prince Harry lost his court case regarding his security while in the UK.
The duke has seen his security level cut down in the UK since quitting life as a working royal. When he and wife Meghan Markle stepped back, their taxpayer-funded security was downgraded.
It’s now decided on a case-by-case basis.
Harry has argued that with his current security level in the UK, he would be concerned about his family’s safety if he were to bring them to the UK.
After losing his battle for taxpayer-funded armed police bodyguards, Harry lashed out during an interview with the BBC.
He described the loss as a “good old-fashioned establishment stitch-up“.
“I can’t see a world in which I will be bringing my wife and children back to the UK. They’re going to miss everything, I love my country. I miss the UK, I miss parts of the UK,” he said.
“It’s sad I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”
Buckingham Palace then released a statement. It said: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”
