Alongside a picture of the pair kissing, she wrote a sweet tribute to her husband, posting: “5 years ago we got engaged …i love living life with you baby – i loveee you so muchhh,” as fans rushed to the comment section.

Brooklyn had previously posted a tribute to his wife. Alongside a snap of them, he wrote: “It’s been 5 years since I asked this beautiful woman to marry me xx best decision ever x I love you so much.”

However, the post came under fire from some fans – who urged Brooklyn to repair his feud with his parents. Whilst some of the comments were negative, others celebrated their love with them.

A source close to the couple told The Mirror: “For every unkind comment, there are just as many full of love, but people so often choose to dwell on the negative. Brooklyn and Nicola are solid, and the idea that a heartfelt anniversary post warrants this level of scrutiny is frankly a bit ridiculous. It’s disheartening to see so much energy spent trying to tear down a young couple simply enjoying their lives together. They want no part in the public’s narrative.”

Nicola had been criticised by fans as “spoilt” after she purchased a string of properties with money gifted to her by her parents.

“Nicola doesn’t deny she’s had a fortunate life, and she’s grateful for it. But she’s also been working for over 20 years, and now writes, directs, and produces her own projects. Her parents are proud to support their children, and the idea that this reflects poorly on them simply doesn’t hold up,” a source told The Mirror.

“Calling her spoiled is false. For her wedding, she requested donations to support Ukraine instead of gifts, and she runs Yogi’s House, a rescue that saves dogs from euthanasia in shelters. These one-sided and false attacks have gotten out of hand.”

Nicola and Brooklyn have been locked in a feud with David and Victoria for months. Brooklyn and Nicola’s recent purchase of a £10.5 million mansion in Los Angeles has reportedly left his mum heartbroken.

According to an insider, there were hopes his life in America wouldn’t be “permanent”, but “this house purchase quashes any last hopes.” However, another source has told the Mirror : “This house has nothing to do with family dynamics. Both Nicola and Brooklyn’s careers are based in Los Angeles, and Brooklyn spent part of his childhood there while his father played for LA Galaxy. During that time, he attended school in LA for several years and built a life and friendships in the city. LA has always felt like home to him.”

Insiders also claimed that there were fears the purchase could leave Brooklyn “trapped”.
