Mike Tindall follows in Prince Harry’s footsteps as he makes book announcement!

Mike may write about the royal family

Mike Tindall has announced he is releasing a brand new book alongside his close pals Alex Payne and James Haskell.

The trio regularly host the podcast The Good, The Bad and The Rugby. Last year, they released their first book, Unleashed. Following the success of that, they are bringing out a second one for fans.

But unlike the first book, this one will delve into more “personal” matters. And it seems Mike Tindall may be following in Prince Harry’s footsteps.

Did Mike Tindall write a book?

Mike Tindall has confirmed his second book. But while it’s meant to be “more personal” it will still differ a lot from Prince Harry’s memoir.

Prince Harry released his memoir, Spare, back in 2023. Throughout the book, he wrote about growing up in the royal family, and gave intimate details of things that had happened in his life.

His book also spoke about the rift he and his wife, Meghan Markle, has with his family members – particularly Prince William and Kate.

So, it seems he isn’t the only member who wants to write about details of his private life, as Mike’s second book is said to be “more personal than ever”.

Mike Tindall announced his book news on a joint Instagram post. It read: “They’re back – and they are unlocking everything. Alex, James and Mike return with a brand-new book: The Good, The Bad and The Rugby – UNLOCKED.

“Bigger. Bolder. More personal than ever. From the games that made them, to the moments they have never shared – this is nearly 60 years of raw, real, and ridiculous rugby stories, laid bare.”

Their caption continued: “The highs, the heartbreaks, the hangovers. The personal, the vulnerable and the downright absurd.”

They then explained that the book is available to pre-order via the link in their Instagram bio. It concluded that “this time, it’s personal”.

Another description of the book promised it would include stories fans have “never heard about”.

While it may focus on rugby stories, the fact it is a more personal book means that perhaps fans may get an insight into some things royal.

Mike will surely mention his relationship with Zara Tindall, and perhaps he may even reference the sporty ways of Prince William. But fans can all find out what is said when it is released on November 6.

Will Mike’s book be like Prince Harry’s?

But Mike’s book looks set to be different from Prince Harry’s memoir, who took the opportunity to let his side of the story known.

In Spare, Harry made some bombshell claims about himself – and other members of his family.

In the memoir, Harry opened up about the multiple times he used drugs over the years. The first time came when he was a student at Eton.

He also admitted to “doing cocaine”, something which he had previously denied.

But there were countless more claims in the book as he published the alleged text messages between Kate and Meghan.

The messages came after reports that the pair disagreed over bridesmaids dresses for Meghan’s wedding to Harry. It was initially alleged that Meghan made Kate cry, but Meghan later claimed it was the other way around.

Harry wrote in his book how he came home to find “Meg on the floor. Sobbing”. But he clarified that Kate did apologise and brought flowers and a card.

So, while it’s not likely that Mike will be publishing any details like that in his book, we may still get little glimpses into his royal life.
