Could we see another memoir?
The royal family will likely feel “concerned” over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s next move, following their reported Netflix blow, a royal expert has predicted.
The Sussexes have reportedly received news that their reported $100 million five-year deal with Netflix, signed back in 2020, won’t renew.

Netflix 2025 rankings
The alleged setback comes after Meghan’s lifestyle and cookery show, With Love, Meghan, appeared to fall flat after initial success. In Netflix’s latest global engagement rankings, it ranked 383rd on the first half of the 2025 Netflix watchlist, after initially making the top 10 when it premiered.
This news could spark concern amongst Harry’s estranged family, says royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams.
Under pressure to find another means of funding their lavish lifestyle, could Harry be prompted to release another memoir? Or could Meghan herself release her own memoir?
Royal family will feel ‘concern’ over Prince Harry and Meghan’s next move
Mr Fitzwilliams told the Express: “What would sell is another memoir. Harry told us when Spare was released that he cut 400 pages as they would be toxic for the royal family.”
The commentator said the royals will likely feel “concerned that the Sussexes could publish another memoir”. This could come from either of the pair.
You either have reconciliation or you have trouble.
He warned forebodingly: “When you have unhappy exiles, you either have reconciliation or you have trouble. I can’t see Meghan and Harry wanting to change their lifestyle. This devastating blow from Netflix raises the question of how they fund it without dishing more dirt.”
The expert explained further: “If you behave as outrageously as the Sussexes have, you are not trusted. Unless the royal family know something we don’t, they will be very worried. The royal family have not forgotten the devastating interview on Oprah and must be hoping they (Harry and Meghan) find a source of revenue very quickly.”

Meghan Markle’s As Ever business
Harry and Meghan, of course, have a few other streams of revenue, including Meghan’s As Ever brand. Despite some criticism over the brand, it has been successful with two launches this year so far.
However, the most recent launch did suffer a setback as the business was forced to issue hundreds of refunds after running out of stock. There was subsequent speculation over whether this was a deliberate marketing ploy by the brand.
Earlier in the year, Meghan also faced a plagiarism row over her company’s emblem.
As Ever has released a string of products, including jam, honey, herbal teas, cookie and crepe mixes, and flower sprinkles. Meghan has even branched into the celebrity wine market, dropping a new rosé wine for the summer. It sold out in minutes.
But many wonder, what will come next for Harry and Meghan?
