Amanda Owen has given fans a glimpse into farm life, confessing they’ve been battling some “dismal” weather conditions.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess, known from Our Yorkshire Farm and Our Farm Next Door, frequently keeps her Instagram followers updated on life at Ravenseat, where she works alongside her ex-husband Clive and their nine children. In her most recent post, she acknowledged the dreary conditions they’d been facing, reports the Mirror.

Posting photographs of herself amongst the sheep with wind blowing through her hair, Amanda wrote: “Goodness me there’s been some dismal kinda days weatherwise (sic).

“Makes me think that it would be smarter to enjoy the great outdoors from the even greater indoors,” she confessed.

She appeared to playfully suggest viewers should stay cosy and watch her programme, adding tea and television emojis whilst teasing: “Ewe know how to do it.”

Followers quickly rallied round with messages of support following Amanda’s update, with one commenting: “You do what you have to do to keep everything ticking over. You are the beating heart of the Ravenseat universe.

“It’s a tough life at times, however, the smile tells us the reward you receive at times,” observed another supporter. The 51 year old star has become a firm favourite amongst audiences since her appearance on Our Yorkshire Farm.

The programme, which launched in 2018, documented the lives of Amanda, Clive, and their nine children – Raven, Reuben, Miles, Edith, Violet, Sidney, Annas, Clementine, and Nancy – as they navigated daily life at Ravenseat farm in the isolated Upper Swaledale area of the Yorkshire Dales.

Following its conclusion, Channel 4 commissioned a fresh series titled Our Farm Next Door, which chronicles the family’s journey as they renovate a run-down property close to their farm.

Speaking about the programme, Amanda recently shared with her Instagram followers: “Countryside, animals, family, relationships, characters, history… it’s not a soap opera, definitely not Emmerdale, it is not Countryfile, not Grand Designs, it isn’t Victorian farm. It just is not any one thing, not conventional, educational or motivational.

“You just should watch it and take away from it whatever it is that interests you personally.”

NO ONE WAS PREPARED FOR THIS MOMENT. In a split second on Loose Women, Janet Street Porter cracked open a secret she had kept tightly sealed — and the shock rippled straight through the studio. At 79, the broadcaster revealed she had quietly married for the fifth time, not with fanfare, but with a honesty so raw it left the panel visibly shaken. “I didn’t need an announcement,” she said, her voice soft but certain. “I knew.” The tears came not from surprise, but from recognition — that kind of peace people spend lifetimes searching for. As cameras lingered and the room fell silent, Janet proved something few dare to say out loud: love doesn’t fade with age — it waits.
