Inside Donald Trump’s ‘obsession’ with ‘very handsome’ Prince William!

Donald Trump hasn’t been shy about admitting what a big fan he is of Prince William, with sources reportedly saying that the US President is ‘obsessed’ with the future King

Willsmania took the world by storm when Prince William was just a teenager – and it seems in some quarters the passion hasn’t dimmed one bit.

One of Prince William’s biggest fans is none other than US President Trump, who – a source has reportedly said – is “obsessed” with the future King.

President Trump has never been shy to open up about how much he likes the Royal Family, calling King Charles a “great friend” and expressing “great respect” for the monarch, and saying about the late Queen Elizabeth after her death that she was a “grand and beautiful lady,” adding that “there was nobody like her!”

However, it seems none of the House of Windsor have stolen President Trump’s heart quite like the Prince of Wales.

A source close to the royal speaking to the Sunday Times marking William’s 43rd birthday joked, “Trump seems obsessed with him which is fantastic for the UK.

“He just has to smile at Trump and we get an extra cut in tariffs. Who does that remind you of? The late Queen, who had a nose for the strategic.”

William met with Trump last December when the pair both attended the official re-opening of Notre Dame Cathedral, after it was destroyed in a fire.

Trump is reported to have requested to meet with William specifically, and after their sit down was filled with praise for the future King – and William’s good looks.

The President called him a “really, very handsome” man, noting that William “looks better in person” and said the pair shared a “great, great talk”.

He also called William a “good man” and noted that the Prince is doing a “fantastic job” – whilst revealing that the pair discussed both King Charles and Princess Kate’s health battles.

“I asked him about his wife and he said she’s doing well,” Trump said at the time, “I asked him about his father and his father is fighting very hard, and he loves his father and he loves his wife, so it was sad.”

President Trump has been invited on a historic second state visit to the UK, during which he will be hosted by King Charles, Queen Camilla and the rest of the Royal Family – with the President presumably hoping William will play a major role in the proceedings too.

He first took part in a state visit during the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth, during his first term as president, and it is unusual to be invited for more than afternoon tea with the monarch in their second term.

However, Kier Starmer issued the “unprecedented” invitation back in February during a visit to Washington, handing over the letter from King Charles publicly.

“Quite apart from this presenting an opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest, it would also offer a valuable chance to plan a historic second state visit to the United Kingdom,” the letter said, per the BBC.

“As you will know this is unprecedented by a US president. That is why I would find it helpful for us to be able to discuss, together, a range of options for location and programme content.

“In so doing, working together, I know we will further enhance the special relationship between our two countries of which we are both so proud.”
