The final storylines have played out for two characters in today’s EastEnders double-bill, after bosses decided to axe the remaining Taylor family. The soap has now said an emotional goodbye to Bernie Taylor and her cousin Felix Baker.
The duo have been cut from the show eight years after they made their first appearance to make way for some new changes to the BBC soap.
The Sun revealed earlier in the year that actors Clair Norris and Matthew James Morrison were being axed from the show as new boss Ben Wadey planned to bring some huge changes.
Last week, EastEnders fans witnessed how Bernie had been stealing from the Panesars after she was put in charge of the business empire by Nish, following his death.

Ravi and Vinny soon realised what was going on and set a trap for Bernie to expose her as the thief, but what they didn’t know was that Bernie wasn’t planning to stick around and swiftly packed her bags.
She fell for the trap set by Ravi and Vinny and took another £25,000 from the Panesar businesses and headed to get a taxi with Felix, who had agreed to leave with her.

However, their plan hit a bump in the road as Suki got in the way and said: “She stole from me”. Bernie hit back with: “No, you did. You all did. You stole from me and my family. Something that I can never get back.”
They continued: “You’ve all just moved on. You can walk away from the Vic now that it’s up for sale and start again, you’ve got Harvey, Jack, all your kids…
“And you have got it all. Everything that you ever wanted. You can be who you are with the woman that you love. This money is a drop in the ocean to get away with what you did, to move on, to finally let me, my mum, my family, to be finally free of this.”

Kathy and Linda pleaded with Suki to let them go before Suki finally stepped aside and Bernie and Felix climbed into the cab and drove off. As they drove down the street, Ravi caught a glimpse and realised that his plan had not worked.
Writer Daran Little described this week as the “end of an era” as he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “I’ve written tonight and tomorrow’s #EastEnders There’s a lot of Carters… and the end of an era.”
