From fame to the brink: The shocking untold story of Noel Edmonds’ darkest days fighting depression, public outrage, and his controversial battle with prostate cancer.

Kiwi Adventure star has previously endured serious health issues

House Party star Noel Edmonds divided audiences with his Kiwi Adventure telly comeback last week – but were you aware the former Crinkly Bottom funny frontman has previously endured serious health issues?

Back in 2015, a very spiritual Noel declared “electro smog” a bigger threat to health than ebola or AIDs. In a chat with the Daily Mirror, he also indicated he believes death doesn’t exist – and the body is a “container” of “universal energy”.

Since then, however, Noel has reportedly faced very significant challenges. And he credits his health regimen for keeping him well and fit amid those problems.

Noel Edmonds health battles

In September 2017, Noel addressed how he attempted to take his own life in 2005. It came after he suffered business woes at the hands of fraudulent bankers, some of who went to prison.

“The only way I can describe it, is it’s the darkest space that the human mind ever occupies,” he told ITV News at the time.

Noel continued: “You see nothing. I mean I had four daughters, I had a wife, I had mates, I saw nothing in that dark space.

“I wrote a letter to my now ex-wife explaining as best I could why I’d reached the end and I recorded little dictaphone messages to my daughters basically saying goodbye.”

Noel’s business accrued debts of £3 million – and in 2007 his Unique Group went into receivership.

‘Why would anybody want to take their own life?’

Meanwhile, in last week’s first episode of the Kiwi Adventure series, Noel reflected on how a sculpture named Guardian kept him “motivated” during “dark times”.

“When the companies went into administration, I thought I was a crap businessman. I thought it was my fault. 70 people lost their jobs,” he explained.

However, Guardian – a statue of a knight kneeling bearing the inscription “The devil saw me with my head down and thought he’d won until I said Amen” – reminds Noel of where he has been and how he has felt.

He explained: “The relevance of that is the knight is not kneeling in defeat; he’s praying.”

Choking up, Noel added: “He’s praying before he gets up and defeats the dark force, the enemy.”

If you’ve ever been in that dark space, you’ll never be critical.

He continued: “I’ll tell you, when you go to that dark space… I used to, like many people, kind of look down my nose and think, why would anybody want to take their own life? Why would they want to do that? I’ll tell you, if you’ve ever been in that dark space, you’ll never be critical, because it’s a space where there is no reason.”

Prostate cancer claims

In November 2016, the former Deal or No Deal host appeared on This Morning and claimed he knew the reason for his prostate cancer diagnosis. He believed his financial legal issues had directly affected his wellbeing.

“I am absolutely sure the negative forces acting on me impacted on my health,” Noel said.

“There is a wealth of information from various clinical studies of a direct link between stress and cancer. I am absolutely certain there was a link in my case.”

Noel went on: “I was, I thought, very, very healthy. I know why I got my cancer. The definition of stress is negative energy. It didn’t just decide to manifest itself, there was cause.”

However, when he made claims about how he’d treated his condition, Noel’s suggestion was met with plenty of scepticism.

As noted by The Guardian, Noel also faced a wave of backlash from online users who said he was promoting dangerous pseudoscience.

“Thanks to electromagnetism, I’m now cancer-free,” he said at the time. He also posted on Twitter that an an electromagnetic pulse device costing £2,315, was “a simple box that slows ageing, reduces pain, lifts depression and stress and tackles cancer. Yep tackles cancer!” Manufacturer EMP Pad Ltd reportedly denied Noel’s claims.

However, according to more recent reports from earlier this month, Noel believes an exercise called ‘Tranquil Power’ helps keep him trim.

As well as taking hot and cold showers, as well as saunas, Noel reportedly also practices crystal healing through electromagnetic vibrations and meditation. He is also said to undergo hyperbaric chamber treatment every week, and also spends plenty of time outdoors.
