Hugh Grant has left royal observers unimpressed after he was caught on camera snoozing behind Queen Camilla at Wimbledon. It seems the actor wasn’t too enthused by the match, despite being court-side whils Novak Djokovic made history in the match.

The star tennis player advanced to his record-breaking 14th Wimbledon semi-final, meanwhile, Hugh was snapped napping, just a seat away from Queen Camilla.

The 64-year-old actor unexpectedly stole the show when he was captured on camera dozing off.

The Heretic star was situated in the Royal Box on Wednesday, 9 July, where Novak Djokovic faced off against Flavio Cobolli.

Not only was Hugh in the company of pro tennis players and his glamorous television producer wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein, but he was also seated just behind Queen Camilla!

Unfortunately, Hugh’s slumbering blunder has irritated social media users, with many pointing out that it wasn’t the time or place to have a power nap.

“Not convinced Hugh Grant is awake,” quipped one user on X.

Another joked: “It’s the most expensive nap in human history.”

Fans ‘slam’ Hugh Grant for sleeping at Wimbledon

Meanwhile, a third fumed about Hugh’s antics: “There are fans who queue since 3 am to get into Wimbledon, and Hugh Grant slept through a tiebreak!”

Another social media user added: “£700 nap,” referencing the cost of a premium seat at Wimbledon. T

BBC Sport’s X account also chimed in, cheekily stating: “It’s all got a bit too much for Hugh Grant.”

Prior to “Nodding Hill Hugh” nodding off, he was seen engaging in a chat with the Queen and her sister, Annabel.

The trio appeared to share smiles and amusing conversation in the sun-soaked Royal Box.

Although it seemed the chat hadn’t been interesting enough to prevent Hugh from getting some much needed shut eye.

For other A-list stars in attendance, like Cate Blanchett, Joe Alwyn, and Glen Powell, the match had been far from boring.

Elsewhere, Queen Camilla also chatted with Djokovic, but the details haven’t been revealed by the tennis player.

“I prefer not sharing that. It’s private,” Djokovic told reporters, as per Express.

“We had a nice exchange. I was actually surprised with her comment and a question that she asked. It was non-tennis related. She was very pleasant. Very, very pleasant.”

Earlier, as Queen Camilla took her seat in Wimbledon’s Royal Box, she was greeted with a round of applause.

The moment was shared online with fans chiming in.

“Eat that haters. Queen Camilla is applauded by Wimbledon Centre Court as she arrives,” one penned on social media.

“I truly admire her stamina. I’m exhausted just thinking of the schedule they keep,” another gushed.
