Strictly Come Dancing star admits ‘I couldn’t stop sweating’ over nerve-wracking moment

Josh Widdicombe has opened up about his “terrifying” Strictly experience during the latest episode of ITV’s Loose Women, as he revealed he “couldn’t stop sweating” throughout.

Comedian Josh Widdicombe has made a candid confession about his Strictly Come Dancing experience, as he admitted it was the “most terrifying thing” he’s ever done.

The 41-year-old appeared on Wednesday’s Loose Women to share his experience on the Christmas Strictly special. But although he enjoyed dancing on the popular BBC show, Josh shared that he often found himself sweating profusely throughout.

Talking openly to panellists Kaye Adams, Coleen Nolan, Mariella Frostrup and Sunetra Sarker, Josh shared his embarrassing ordeal alongside his dance partner Karen Hauer. He said: “It was the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done.” He added: ” So the first two sessions, I was just dripping with sweat so badly!”

“Karen, at the end, said- like when we had been going at a month doing this thing- she said, ‘I just assumed you were a really sweaty person.’ I had such fear sweats!”

The comedian also said: “I went to buy a T-shirt like a sports T-shirt beforehand and tried it on. I went to pay for it in Adidas and the woman behind the counter said, ‘Oh sorry, someone’s tried it on.’ It was me!”

As well as his own Strictly ordeal, Josh spoke about this year’s winner and friend Chris McCausland. Speaking favourably, Josh said: “He was incredible on it. He was absolutely amazing.

“From week three, you just thought this guy is kind of the star of the whole thing!” Father-of-two Josh added that Chris did not think he would win the series at all.

Last month, Josh appeared on Saturday Kitchen and told the presenters that he found Strictly “so much fun”. He said: “It’s really fun and my daughter’s seven and she’s a huge fan. I brought her to training to meet Karen and that was really nice.

Speaking about signing up for the show, Josh said: “I am utterly terrified this will end in humiliation and worried I’m going to be so bad I will ruin Christmas for the nation. Why have I done this?”

Fans will be able to watch Josh strut his moves on Christmas as Day on the Strictly special.
