Stacey Solomon left sobbing ‘I don’t know what to do’ over devastating family news

Stacey Solomon was left sobbing in heartbreaking scenes of her BBC One show as the TV star revealed that her dog Teddy had been rushed to the vet in a terrifying condition

Stacey Solomon broke down sobbing as she revealed devastating news about her dog Teddy on BBC One’s Stacey and Joe.

Stacey’s hit series follows her husband Joe Swash and their family as they navigate life at Pickle Cottage with their many pets – including rescue spaniel Teddy. However, in tonight’s episode, Teddy was suddenly taken ill on Good Friday – with Stacey rushing him to the vet after he lost the ability to walk.

As Joe and son Zachary arrived, she left in tears and embraced Joe, telling him: “It’s not that good. You come in and speak to her. I feel really bad.”

She sobbed: “I don’t know what to do because you can see all his discs are gone, they’ve been bad – it must be hereditary, she said,” Stacey told Joe and her son Zachary. “I don’t know what to do.”

Speaking to the camera, Joe told the show: “At the moment, there’s a 70% chance that he’ll never be able to use his legs again. He’s slipped a disc in his back which is crushing his spinal cord which is making him paralysed.

“Is it fair putting him through an operation with such little chance of recovery? But then, he’s part of our family.”

The couple ultimately signed Teddy up for surgery and left him overnight, but continued to get upset on the car journey home.

Ringing her sister Gemma, Stacey said: “He’s only got a 30% chance of recovery. She didn’t say there’s 0% chance so what do you do? You have to give it a go, don’t you?”

“He has to stay with them until at least Tuesday and that’s if he makes it and the spinal cord doesn’t die,” she added, while Gemma tried to comfort her.

“I’ve got to work out what I’m going to say to them,” Stacey said, referring to her kids. “Because he might not come home, Gem.”

Last week, Stacey delivered an emotional update on social media, months on from Teddy’s operation. In an Instagram video, Stacey explained that she took Teddy for a grooming visit as it was difficult to wash him herself due to him not being able to stand up.

She told fans: “Thank you for always asking after Teddy. It really means a lot. He’s such a happy boy. He’s such a lovely boy.

“He will never be able to use his legs again, but he’s getting used to wheelchair and, just, yeah. You just get on with it don’t you Teddy?”

But Salt suggests that the drama is only just beginning: ‘I’m delightedthat we now get to build on this fantastic first run and show that things are only just getting started for this very special series’.
