Newly single Ruth Langsford has some big plans for when her divorce from Eamonn Holmes, 65, is officially confirmed.

The Loose Women anchor, 65, has been leaning on celebrity pals like Rylan Clark and Coleen Nolan in the wake of her marriage ending while her estranged husband has moved on with 42-year-old relationship counsellor Katie Alexander since the former couple announced they were going their separate ways last year.

As Eamonn focuses his attention on a new relationship, Ruth is far more concerned with having fun with her pals – with a huge divorce party reportedly being planned for when Ruth is legally free of her ex. The TV presenter is thought to have said “life begins after divorce” following her shock split.

Ruth and Eamonn announced the had parted ways in May after 14 years of marriage. The exes, who once presented ITV show This Morning together, first met in 1996 and welcoming son Jack Holmes, 22, into the world in 2002 before at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire in June 2010.

Since announcing her split from Eamonn, Ruth has reportedly thrown herself into work and been prioritising self-care amid rumours Eamonn is planning to pop the question to his new partner Katie. After toasting the New Year with friends, it’s thought Ruth is planning a big bash to mark her divorce once it goes through.

The mum-of-one is said to admit her split from Eamonn has “not been without its horrible days” but her friends have helped her get through the turmoil. According to one insider, trips to the hairdresser and “shopping for a new wardrobe” have been Ruth’s form of therapy.

“Ruth’s sass is definitely back. She’s ready for new adventures, and who knows, a man – if and when, it’s on her terms,” a source tells Heat magazine when discussing Ruth’s future post-Eamonn. “For now, girls’ nights and piña coladas are filling the void. Ruth has a force field of friends – they’re her armour and they give her great advice.”

Over the week, Ruth gave her followers a significant update on her mum’s health, following her hospitalisation before Christmas due to a broken pelvis. Joan, 94, sustained the painful injury in a fall, causing Ruth great concern and leading her to keep fans updated on her progress via social media.

However, there’s been a major health breakthrough for the Loose Women star’s mum, as Ruth announced that she was finally discharged and able to return home. Sharing the positive news with her Instagram followers, Ruth posted a video showing her mum back at home, enjoying quality time with her dog, Maggie.

Set to Everly Fair’s cover of I Love You Always Forever, Ruth captioned: “SHE’S HOME! ! ! Mum is finally out of hospital! Thank you to all the nursing staff at St.Peter’s Hospital and Woking Community Hospital for taking such good care of her. As you can see, Maggie is VERY happy to have her home!”

Last month, news broke that Joan had suffered a fall while preparing for Christmas festivities. Ruth shared a video of her elderly mum dancing in the kitchen while peeling vegetables and wrote: “No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas….She’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis! She’s ok…ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now. She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon.”

This marked the second time in two years that Joan had fallen and broken something during the festive season, having previously broken her hip in 2023.
