Loose Women confirm special tribute to ITV show legend 10 years after tragic death

Loose Women will remember former panelist Lynda Bellingham OBE next week as the ITV daytime show marks the 10th anniversary of her tragic death after losing her battle with cancer

Loose Women will pay a special tribute to late panelist Lynda Bellingham OBE next week to mark 10th anniversary of her tragic death.

The actress and TV personality sadly passed away with husband Michael by her side on October 19. 2014 after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

She joined Loose Women on 10 April 2007, appearing alongside Carol McGiffin and Coleen Nolan, and continued as a regular on the show until 2011. In total, Lynda made more than 300 appearances on the show, including a special appearance in 2014 shortly before her death.

Two editions of Loose Women were dedicated to Lynda after her death and Kaye Adams confirmed on Friday’s (October 11) show that the ITV daytime programme will remember the former star on Wednesday next week.

Kaye, Judi Love, Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore spoke to actress Julie Graham about her upcoming TV projects and conversation turned to her working with “brilliant” Lynda. Kaye later informed viewers that the show will remember Lynda next week with a special show featuring members of her family.

It comes after former Loose Women star Jane McDonald said she believes Lynda is still guiding her life in some ways. Singer and TV star Jane, 61, appeared on Loose Women from 2004 until 2010 alongside Lynda and says she gave her other career breaks along the way. The pair were very close friends when Lynda died.

Jane said: “I owe such a lot to Lynda because she asked me to take over her Birmingham panto for that year when she was poorly. Thank goodness I did because through that I got Cats[Musical she appeared on stage in 2015], then through Cats and getting the vocal training that I did, that’s when my voice changed, and I went on to be able to sing just about anything – that’s all through Lynda.

“So I still think Lynda’s guiding us all in our own ways. Her and I became really, really good friends over the years of Loose Women. I’ll always be grateful to Lynda for guiding me a little bit because she was the first person that interviewed Ed for the job as my boyfriend. She says I need to see this guy, and the first thing she said to him, what are your intentions to my friend?”
