Jeff Brazier delivers update on relationship with son Freddy amid family feud

Jeff Brazier has shared an update on how he’s doing with son Freddy after rumours hit the headlines of a strained relationship between him and the 20-year-old earlier this year

TV presenter Jeff Brazier gave Loose Women viewers an insight into his relationship with son Freddy after the 20-year-old’s recent difficulties. Earlier this year, the youngster was said to have left the family home to move in with his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden, while in June, he said that he was heading to rehab in Spain after becoming addicted to “smoking” before deciding not to go.

Now on Loose Women, dad Jeff has updated fans on how the father-son pair are doing. Speaking about his upcoming role in 101 Dalmations: the Musical, Jeff said that Freddie is “eager” to watch him on stage. When asked whether his older son, EastEnders star Bobby, had given him acting advice, Jeff said: “He’s been a bit casual about it.

“I was with both the lads yesterday and Freddie is showing more eagerness to come and watch.

“Bobby is going to come soon and no doubt there will be a critique that follows. He does trust me, I think he’s always admired the fact that I chuck myself in. Whether that’s a good idea or not, it soon follows doesn’t it?”

Jeff is making his musical debut in 101 Dalmations: The Musical, starring alongside JLS singer Aston Merrygold and Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas.

Last week, it was reported that Freddy had split from his girlfriend Holly Swimburn, shortly after the pair had bought a dog together.

A source claimed to the Mail: “Things got very intense very quickly and Freddy had been living with Holly and they had holidayed together, making plans for their future, but it has turned ugly pretty fast.

“There has been an almighty fall out and neither party believes they’re in the wrong – it has become the latest saga in Freddy’s life following a series of setbacks.”

Earlier in July, the 20-year-old revealed that he had missed a flight to Ibiza before getting into a punch-up at the airport.

“Missed my flight, got punched and got a fine on the train,” Freddy wrote bluntly. “What a s*** day.” He also uploaded a selfie, showing what appeared to be a swollen eye.

Days later, older brother Bobby, 22, described Freddy as a “good boy” who needed to grow up.

He told The Sun that Freddy is “very sensitive” and “wants to please” people. He continued: “When he grows up a little bit, that will serve him well.”

Bobby added: “There are things I don’t like about him and there are things about me he doesn’t like.” He concluded: “Freddy will be OK I don’t know if he looks up to me, but I look up to him in many ways, but he’s a good boy.”
