ITV Loose Women’s Charlene White issues stern warning to Janet Street-Porter over ‘inappropriate’ comment

Loose Women host Charlene White was left stunned by her co-star Janet Street Porter’s ‘inappropriate’ comment as she was forced to issue a stern warning live on-air

The atmosphere on Loose Women’s Wednesday (16th April) episode took a sharp turn from jovial banter to a moment of tension as host Charlene White had to issue a firm warning following an inappropriate remark.

Charlene White was at the helm with Denise Welch, Janet Street Porter, and Mariella Frostrup by her side, as they dabbled in artificial intelligence to conjure up a human version of what a dog might look like.

Things got personal when producers chose to use Janet’s own furry friend, Badger, for the experiment to envision his human male counterpart.

The situation escalated into hilarity just before Badger’s big reveal, with Janet having mimicked her cherished canine live, which sent the audience and her fellow panellists into fits of laughter.

Amidst the chuckles, Charlene quipped: “Shall we see whether you were embarrassing yourself on National Television,” cueing the AI image’s debut while Denise excitedly exclaimed: “We love it”, reports Devon Live.

“Will you please welcome Badger,” announced Charlene, as Denise reacted with: “Ohhh Janet, so attractive.”

The screen split to show Janet’s terrier transformed into a rugged, long-haired, bearded man, eliciting gasps from everyone at the strikingly handsome AI creation.

Janet, however, was far from pleased, protesting with a loud “No, no, no,” and voicing her discontent with the result.

Janet declared emphatically: “My Badger, well he’s my partner’s Badger and he’s going to get the hump after this. He bought Badger and we share him. That person, that dog person looks like a bin man.”

In disbelief, Charlene interjected: “Janet!” Unperturbed, the star continued: “My Badger is gorgeous. My Badger’s got love eyes, he’s got eyebrows.”

Stunned by Janet’s remark, Denise turned to the host, querying: “I think he looks nice, do you?” Charlene, however, was more taken aback by Janet’s offensive quip than the AI-generated image.

The presenter intervened with a serious caution directed at Janet: “Also, we don’t talk about our bin men like that Janet.”

Charlene reinforced firmly: “We definitely don’t do that.”

Acknowledging her faux pas, Janet concurred: “Oh alright, I’ll take that back and I’ll apologise to all refuse collectors everywhere, I am very very sorry, I am truly sorry.”

While Janet was speaking, Charlene forcefully interjected: “I tell you what I am going to do, move on from Badger,” briskly concluding the awkward exchange.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
