Broadcasting icon Clare Balding is rumoured to be taking part in BBC’s Celebrity Traitors but the TV star remained coy when she was quizzed about it on Loose Women
Clare Balding has revealed that she “loves” The Traitors as she’s rumoured to take part in the UK’s first celebrity version.
It was confirmed earlier this year that the BBC had commissioned a star-studded edition of the popular BBC game show. The series became a huge hit, following a group of people who are labelled either a Faithful or Traitor.
Among the Faithfuls, there are a number of Traitors who are trying to eliminate the rest of the Faithfuls so that they can get their hands on the money prize. The second series premiered in January this year and was won by Traitor Harry Clark.
Rumours have already started swirling on which famous faces will be heading to the Scottish castle with Clare’s name in the running alongside the likes of Paloma Faith, Stephen Fry, Robert Preston, Daisy May Cooper and Tom Daley.

Appearing on Loose Women on Friday (November 1), the broadcaster was quizzed on the rumours by panelists Charlene White, Frankie Bridge, Nadia Sawalha and Judi Love.
Host Charlene pointed out that she’s not going to ask Clare if she’s joining the show but asked the Celebrity Gogglebox star if she was a fan.” Clare replied: “I love the show. Don’t you?” It’s so interesting.”

There have been two series of the programme in the US – one featuring both celebrities and members of the public and a second which just had celebrities. That series included the likes of former House of Commons Speaker John Bercow and Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
Both the American series were filmed at the same location used for the UK show. The Traitors in the UK became a hit on its debut in 2022, and the series two finale, which aired in January 2024, was viewed by nearly seven million people.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s head of entertainment, said: “The Traitors has well and truly established itself as an unmissable highlight of the year and the news of a fourth outing, alongside a brand new celebrity version coming to the BBC, will take the series to a whole new level.
“It will once again be fascinating for our audiences to see who’ll outwit, outplay, and outlast. Let the mind games begin!”
