CBB star Michael Fabricant lashes out at Trisha Goddard telling her to ‘keep gob shut’

After Michael Fabricant was accused by Trisha Goddard of ‘Islamophobia’, he took aim at her on Late & Live and says others are also starting to feel ‘uncomfortable’

Axed Michael Fabricant launched into Trisha Goddard and told the talk show queen to ‘keep her gob shut’. The Tory – the first housemate to be given the boot on Friday night – lashed out at Trisha after the pair exchanged words in week one. Things got heated when Trisha accused him of ‘Islamophobia’ – and it doesn’t seem like the politician has moved on from their argument.

During the show’s shopping task last week, Chesney Hawkes asked Michael his thoughts on immigration, which prompted Trisha to get involved. Chesney shared his experience of being of Jewish descent to which, Michael responded: “Jewish people when they usually come to this country believe, do in Rome as the Roman’s do.”

He added: “Do not come to this country if your aim is to change everybody to your way of thinking.” Sparking outrage in Trisha, she immediately jumped in and asked: “Hang on! Are you slipping into Islamophobia? Because you’re going to have trouble.” Defending his comment, Michael added: “Who mentioned Islam?”

Listening to Michael’s defence, Trisha told him, “It’s getting dangerous,” as she stood firm that Michael was not being misunderstood. Continuing with his defence, Michael said: “I’m trying to explain this country has benefited from wave upon wave of immigration.”

Speaking on last night’s CBB spin off show Late & Live, Michael made another dig while chatting to host Will Best. “There’s one person who I felt uncomfortable with and I’m pleased to see that in this episode since that it’s beginning to gel with others,” he said on the programme.

“I thought there was something wrong with me. But I’m beginning to see that Trisha is getting on other people’s tits too.” He didn’t stop there and had another poke, saying: “If Trish is watching this on a recording, Trish if you’re not sure where something is going, keep your gob shut.”

The much-loved TV presenter, 67, admitted that she said the time was finally right to go on the ITV show amid her terminal cancer diagnosis as Trisha hopes to remind people to live their lives to the fullest. Speaking on Davina McCall’s hit podcast, Begin Again, Trisha, who is living with incurable stage four breast cancer, said that her eldest daughter Billie was the one who inspired her to finally agree to being on the show after being asked by producers ‘every single year’ to join the lineup.

The TV presenter also finally decided that her time to shine in the Celebrity Big Brother house was upon her after she previously declined going on the show while she was in the height of money struggles. At the time, Trisha was left so broke that she was asking her children for money, and decided that was no way to live anymore.

When asked by podcast host Davina, 57, for her reasoning for finally saying yes, Trisha explained: “Let me be honest, money wise, I’ve been asked a couple of times before when, sort of, the public didn’t know, but I was really brassic. You know, divorced, having to pay people out, all that stuff. Really, I mean seriously, like borrowing money from my kids for a while and I still said there’s no way I was going to do it.”
