Victoria Beckham showed support to her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz after she was left shattered by tragic family news.
Nicola, 29, who is wed to Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn, took to social media earlier this week to share her profound grief over the loss of her cherished dog.
The billionaire heiress admitted June had been “the hardest month of her life” after the death of her grandmother just a few weeks ago
On her Instagram page, Nicola opened up about the effect of the double loss, admitting she is struggling to find words to express her devastation.
She said: “This has been the hardest month of my life. I can’t even find the words to describe my heartbreak on so many levels.”
The tragedy unfolded when Nicola’s healthy chihuahua Nala went to the groomers but returned in distress,
hyperventilating and unable to breathe properly. Despite being rushed to the vet, Nala sadly passed away shortly after.
Nicola continued: “We rushed her to the vet and she passed hours later, her life was taken away from her way too soon. She was my beautiful queen and stayed by my side for 9 years through everything. 1 day without Nala on earth feels like an eternity. I wish I could have her back in my arms. I pray she’s with my Naunni. I hope I see them soon.”, reports the Mirror.
Victoria Beckham, aged 50, sent her sympathies to Nicola, writing: “Thinking about you at this difficult time, we love you.”
Brooklyn Beckham also paid tribute by posting about their late pet, describing her as the “cutest little baby girl” and sharing how much they “miss you beyond.”
The couple, Nicola and Brooklyn, are also parents to a puppy named Lamb. The sad news of Nala’s death comes after the recent passing of Nicola’s grandmother, who played a significant role in her wedding to Brooklyn in 2022 as her maid of honour.
Nicola had previously shared with People magazine how her grandmother eased her nerves on her wedding day, saying: “My Nani was my maid of honour. I remember… I get really nervous talking in front of people or in front of crowds, so I was nervous about that. But right before I walked down the aisle with my dad, I heard everyone clapping and cheering. It was because my Nani had her flowers, and she was dancing down the aisle, and that makes me so happy.”
In a moving post, Nicola expressed her sorrow over her nan’s passing, stating: “I feel like I will never have the right words because I just don’t believe you’re gone. I’m so heartbroken and miss you so much. I’m so lucky you were my Naunni. You raised the most perfect daughter that I’m lucky enough to call my mom which is my biggest gift in life.”
