Brooklyn Beckham takes subtle swipe at Prince Harry as he’s reveals royal friendships

The eldest son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham revealed which member of the Royal Family they used to see “the most often” whilst on a talk show this week.

Retired footballer David, 49, and former Spice Girl Victoria, 50, are thought to be long-term friends with members of the Royal Family for some time. The couple, who each have an OBE, have attended various royal events over the years.

Their eldest child Brooklyn Beckham, 25, was asked about the connection whilst on Watch What Happens Live! on Monday night. He spoke to host Andy Cohen, 56, whilst a guest on the Bravo show in the US with Zachary Quinto. During the episode, Andy read out a question from a viewer that wanted to know which members of the Royal Family Brooklyn saw most often growing up.

They referenced Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43, in the question. Reading the question out, Andy said: “Growing up, which members of the Royal Family did you see the most often, especially since your family is friends with Harry and Meghan?” After taking a moment to think, Brooklyn replied.

He shared with the presenter that it was “probably” Prince William, 42, and made no mention of his parents’ former pals Meghan and Harry. Brooklyn responded to the question: “Probably William, yeah.” Andy then asked: “What’s he like? Is there something about him that people don’t get? Is he fun?”

Brooklyn said about King Charles III’s eldest son: “He’s just like the sweetest guy ever. He really is.” The guest went on to comment about the heir to the throne whilst on the show: “He’s really down to earth. He’s really [a] good guy.”

David and Victoria have been associated with the Royal Family for a number of years. The couple have notably attended two royal weddings, with them first guests at Prince William’s nuptials to Princess Kate, now 42, more than a decade ago. The wedding was held at Westminster Abbey in 2011. More recently, Brooklyn’s parents attended Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018. Those nuptials were held at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

It was later reported that Prince William and Princess Kate had been invited to Brooklyn’s wedding to Nicola Peltz, now 29, in 2022. There was speculation that the Beckhams ‘agonised’ over whether to invite Prince William and his wife, or Prince Harry and his wife, given an alleged rift between the two couples.

The family are said to have chosen Prince William and Princess Kate in the end due to their long history of friendship. A source said last year: “David and Victoria wrote to William and Kate inviting them and the family to their son’s wedding, and William replied wishing them a great deal of joy but they are unable to attend.”
