Prince Harry is ready to reconcile with the Royal Family but King Charles and Prince William appear to be resisting efforts, a leading royal commentator has claimed. Relations between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, have been strained since the pair stepped back from royal duties and went on to make a series of allegations against the Firm in their Netflix docu-series, Harry’s memoir Spare and in TV interviews.
Asked who is hampering efforts at reconciliation between the Duke of Sussex and the Windsors, the BBC’s former royal correspondent Jennie Bond told Times Radio it doesn’t appear to be coming from Harry.
She said: “Early on it was Harry, who was demanding an apology. There was going to be no meeting of minds or meeting in reality until there was an apology for the affronts he thought had been made to his wife. But now I think the tables have turned somewhat. Messages coming from Harry’s side are that he’s ready at least to forgive and that he loves his family. He’s said that quite publicly. He wants to see more of them.
“But it is Charles and William who seem to be resisting reconciliation at this point so I think it was first one, then the other.”
Quizzed on whether that chimed with what is known about William’s character, Ms Bond said once the Prince of Wales has set his mind on something it would be very hard to dissuade him.
She added that as the years go by she hoped there would be a reconciliation, saying time can be a healer, but can also lead to people feeling entrenched in their positions.
The comments came after Harry visited London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games but saw neither his brother nor his father.

An insider told the Mirror: “Harry’s made his bed. I’m an advocate for protecting your peace, and if this young man is bringing the drama, then good on King Charles for giving him the space he needs to grow.
“King Charles just wants to have his peace in his twilight years. He doesn’t want to argue.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been embroiled in fresh controversy over their environmental stance after it emerged they took two complimentary private flights during their trip to Nigeria.
The couple, accompanied by a small group, were flown by Nigerian carrier Air Peace on a 120-seat aircraft for a 664-mile round trip from Abuja to Lagos on May 12, resulting in approximately 12 tonnes of carbon emissions.

Prince William has finally “disowned” his estranged brother, Prince Harry and doesn’t give him a “thought,” a royal expert has claimed.
The BBC’s former royal correspondent Jennie Bond told Times Radio: “I think as far as William is concerned, Harry really doesn’t exist.
“William has enough pressure on his heart and his head, with his wife and her ongoing cancer treatment, and his father, his job and his kids that I don’t think he’s got any room in his soul to worry about his estranged brother…I think William has disowned Harry.”

King Charles pays tribute to sacrifices of allied forces
King Charles on Sunday (May 19) paid tribute to the sacrifices made by allied forces as he marked the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino.
Charles called for reflection on the courage of the men and women whose actions in central Italy enabled the landings in Normandy a few weeks later.
Charles’s message was posted on the Royal Family’s X account in both English and Italian. The message was delivered in Italy by the Duchess of Edinburgh.

A trailer for a short film has been released on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official socal media platforms as part of Mental Health Week.

Kate wrote on her official account: “This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we’ve brought together the inspirational Sam Stables from We Are Farming Minds and the brilliant Farmer Will for a very special film.
“Spending a day together on Sam’s farm in Hereford they chatted about mental health in the farming community, finding support and the Duchy of Cornwall’s Mental Health Strategy.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s sixth wedding anniversary quietly passed by, with neither the couple nor the Royal family publicly acknowledging the occasion.

Meghan Markle’s ‘first mistake’ as a working royal before it all went downhill
Meghan Markle made her “first mistake” as a working member of the Royal Family back in 2019, claims journalist Liz Jones.
In her column for dailymail.co.uk, Ms Jones openly admits she was a fan of the former actress at the time of her royal wedding.
But her time as a fan “cooled” when Meghan visited sex workers in Bristol at the start of 2019 – and mostly notably wrote messages on bananas for them.
Ms Jones wrote: “It was Bananagate, when Meghan, still a working Royal, visited sex workers in Bristol, scrawling positive mantras on fruit.”
