Meghan Markle has been accused of being “demanding” as she’s already having a “lot of trouble” hiring for key roles at her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

A royal expert has slammed the Duchess of Sussex for causing tensions within her new brand, bringing things to a “stalemate” just months after it was launched.

Meghan announced the launch of American Riviera Orchard on social media in March, followed by a giveaway of 50 personalised jam jars to her friends and influencers in the US.

Though details about the venture are still few and far between, it’s known that it will generate home, garden, and lifestyle content.

Despite the seemingly smooth launch, royal biographer Angela Levin said Meghan is struggling to get it off the ground and hire people to run it.

She told GB News America: “She is very upset about what is happening with this American Orchard Rivera, she is not happy about how it has been received. The jam was a bit of a laughing stock, she sent it off to about fifty friends and only a few replied.

“Everyone said that she is in a jam. It is not moving forward. She has had a lot of trouble finding a CEO to run it for her and she is having a lot of trouble finding a chef. Some of them have gone along to see how it is but they say she is so meticulous about everything.

“She’s so demanding and they don’t really want that. These are chefs who have good jobs, and they’re not people who are learning, so it’s a bit of a stalemate.”

Levin also claimed Meghan thought the job of running the brand would be easy, but had a rude awakening as it’s actually “jolly hard work”.

The royal commentator took aim at the Duchess for assuming everybody would be on board with her new venture and think it “wonderful” when in reality it’s been “much more difficult”.

She added: “I think she’s she’s finding it much more difficult than she thought. I think she thought she would sail in and everybody would think it was wonderful, which I think she does a lot about herself. But actually, it’s jolly hard work.”
