This remarkable connection traces back to a common ancestor, Henry II of England, making Beyoncé the 25th cousin once removed of the more recent British monarch. The discovery of this fascinating connection was also made possible through the ancestry website Geni, which traced the lineage back to Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson.

Known for his expansive reign over the Angevin Empire, Henry II controlled not just England, but also large swathes of France, Wales, Ireland, and had influence over Scotland and Brittany. His era of prosperity is mirrored in the success Beyoncé has achieved in her career.

Much like Queen B, Henry II’s reign was marked by significant expansion and wealth. According to Kreol Magazine, Creole culture encompasses a variety of languages and unique traditions. It is especially prominent in Louisiana, USA, where New Orleans boasts a significant Creole population.

Beyoncé’s familial roots in this culture are also embedded through her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson. Tina was born in Galveston, Texas, and her ancestry includes a mix of African, Native American, and Irish backgrounds. On the other side, Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, contributes African-American heritage from Houston, Texas, to the family lineage.
