Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham issued a statement where she admitted to feeling ‘heartbroken’ as she also sent a four-word message to her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz

Victoria Beckham sent a public message to her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz after admitting she was “heartbroken”.

The Spice Girl turned fashion designer took to her Instagram Stories to share a lengthy message amid the wildfires taking over Los Angeles. She said: “Seeing the devastation and loss caused by these wildfires is truly heartbreaking. Los Angeles holds such a special place in our family’s hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected, especially those who have lose their homes of loved ones.

“We are immensely grateful to the brave firefighters and first responders who are risking their lives to protect others. Please stay sage and look after each other during this devastating time. Victoria x.” Following her message, Victoria shared a photo with her daughter-in-law Nicola, who is married to eldest son Brooklyn Beckham.

The pair were seen on a beach overlooking the sunset as Victoria said: “Happy birthday @nicolaannepeltzbeckham!!! Love you so much xxxx.” Five people have been sadly confirmed to have lost their lives in the blaze according to officials. It’s reported over 1,000 homes have been destroyed and more than 70,000 people evacuated.

One of the areas hardest hit is the Pacific Palisades, an affluent Los Angeles neighbourhood that is the home to many high profile A-listers, including Mandy Moore, Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins and Jamie Lee Curtis, all of whom have lost their homes in the unfolding carnage.

Brooklyn has shared images of the wildfires from his $3.8million condo as the flames could be seen lighting up the night sky. Amid his wedding to Nicola in 2022, there was speculation of a rift between his new wife and famous mum. There were rumours that Nicola “refused” to wear her Victoria Beckham design wedding gown, while others said Victoria had declined to make her dress.

But a source said they decided to make peace for the sake of the family. Last year, the pair were pictured together at various family events, including Victoria’s fashion shows. Speaking to OK! magazine, a source claimed it took some time for the family to adjust to the new dynamic after the wedding. They said: “It’s difficult at times because Victoria is used to being the boss and ruling everything – she’s the matriarch of the family.

“Nicola and Victoria are both very strong characters, so it was either going to end in them losing the relationship Victoria and David have with Brooklyn, or the issues needed to be put to bed to bring them all back together.” In October, Nicola proved all was good with her mother-in-law as she even replicated her famous look.

Nicola showed off a new hairstyle that looked the spitting image of her mother-in-law in her Spice Girl days. She showed off her sleek dark bob that Victoria was famous for sporting in the 90s. Fans were quick to point out the similarity to a young Victoria as one wrote: “Posh Spice vibes.” Another commented: “Yessss! Living for this hair!” A third posted: “Love the short hair on you Nic.” A fourth said: “I love the hair!” as a fifth added: “Hair is 10/10.”
