On Wednesday’s instalment of This Morning, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were informing ITV viewers what they could expect from the show – but Cat was left red-faced

This Morning host Ben Shephard wasted no time in scolding his co-star Cat Deeley on Wednesday morning.

It comes as the two ITV stars were informing viewers on what they can expect throughout the show as the episode kicked off.

As they both planned on speaking with actress Sherrie Hewson, Cat said: “She’s best known for playing Corrie’s Maureen Holdsworth but now Sherrie Hewson is making history in Hollyoaks as she becomes the show’s oldest serial killer.

“She’s going to kill me for saying this at 73, she’ll be joining us live.” Ben chuckled as Cat revealed their guest’s age before jokingly snapping at her.

He quipped: “Don’t reveal the age of a serial killer! Are you mad?!” Cat replied: “Why on earth did I do that?!”

In an episode which aired earlier this week, he couldn’t help but make a swipe at her husband when they were speaking about this year’s winner of the world’s ugliest dog. The pooch, called Wild Than, is an eight-year-old Pekingese who has been left with permanent damages after catching a virus as a puppy.

As one of their guest panellist, Sonia Sodha, stated that beauty was in the eye of the beholder, Cat agreed. She replied “I also quite like an underdog! I quite like a dog with literally three legs or-”

Cutting in, Ben asked if she was more drawn to lesser attractive dogs and Cat quickly agreed. Poking fun at her, he swiped: “That’s why you married Paddy [Kielty]?”

As their two guests were visibly shocked by the jibe, they awkwardly laughed as Car replied: “Oh my goodness, you know he’s poorly at the moment! So, he can’t sort you out!”

Cat and Ben have been fronting the ITV show together since the start of March when ITV announced them as the new full-time presenters following Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s exit. Since then, the pair have built up a fun on-screen rapport as they’re often seen laughing and joking with one another throughout the show.
