The Wanted star Max George has revealed he is in hospital and faces a tough road to recovery over the Christmas period after doctors discovered heart issues

Singer Max George has revealed he is in hospital and could remain there over Christmas.

The Wanted star shared the devastating news on Instagram. The 36-year-old revealed he is having issues with his heart and told his followers how he had been feeling unwell yesterday so headed to hospital. There, he underwent tests before doctors made the scary discovery.

In the emotional upload, Max admitted he faces a difficult spell but knows he is in the best place. His lengthy message read: “Yesterday I felt really unwell and was taken in to hospital. Unfortunately after some tests they’ve found that I have some issues with my heart.

“I have a lot more tests to determine the extent of the problems and what surgery I will need to get me back on my feet. It’s gonna be a difficult few weeks / months… and Christmas in a hospital bed wasn’t exactly what I had planned! But, as always, I’m surrounded with love and support by my wonderful partner Maisie, her family, my family and friends.. and I’m 100% in the best place.”

The star added that while the discovery is a “huge shock” and “a set back”, it’s something he is willing to fight. “I count myself very lucky that this was caught when it was,” he confessed before telling fans they can expect regular updates. He ended by joking: “I’ve probably got a month in a bed and there’s not THAT much to do! Let’s do this!”

Max paired the post with an image of himself in a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown. Fans were quick to take to the comments section to share well wishes. Among them was Charlotte Hawkins, who wrote: “Oh my goodness hope all OK & you’re back on your feet soon xx.”

Former Love Island star Luca Bish also wrote: “Love ya bro,” while 90s star Janice Robinson said: “Praying for you,” alongside a love heart and praying hands emoji. Max’s girlfriend Maisie also showed some support for her ill boyfriend, simply adding: “Love you Max [love heart emoji].”
