Strictly star admits ‘I could have done more’ as he opens up on co-star’s death

Professional dancer and former Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev opened up on the tragic passing of his friend Robin Windsor and said he wished he had done more

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev recently made a heartfelt confession as he spoke about the death of his co-star and friend Robin Windsor.

Appearing on ITV’s Loose Women on Thursday afternoon (July 25), Pasha joined Kaye Adams, Judi Love, Penny Lancaster and Sunetra Sarker for a frank discussion about his upcoming project. Pasha, 44, along with the Strictly Theatre Co have created the stage production Robin Windsor – The Final Act to honor Robin who tragically passed away in February this year.

Hosted by Emmerdale star Lisa Riley and Strictly’s Anton Du Beke, the show promises to be a full-on dance experience for attendees when it his the stage in November. But while on the ITV show, former dance professional Pasha spoke openly about his regrets following the news of Robin’s death.

He said: “We did a lot of dances together, a lot of projects together, shared a stage a million of times. Unfortunately, the news of his passing came as a shock to me- to all of his friends.

“When you hear about something like that, as a friend you start thinking immediately, could have done something more. Could have been there just for extra time, seeing him, talking to me him, send an extra message and basically because of that my first instinct was that I wanted to cherish the time we had together with Robin.

“I would like to one more time get all the friends together. Speak about him, remember how happy he was in his good days and go over the things he loved,” he explained

The news of Robin’s death was first announced publically by the dance company he helped to found, Burn the Floor. The dance organisation which is one of the leading ballroom-based shows in the world, wrote on Facebook at the time : “The BTF family has lost one of its founding members, Robin ‘Bobby’ Windsor – who has tragically passed away.

“A BTF journeyman, he danced with us for 20 years – including Broadway, the West End and all our crazy adventures around the world. His talent, attitude, energy and personality helped create the Burn the Floor stage reputation.

“He leaves a void in our hearts that will never be filled, yet our wonderful memories will stay forever.”
