Stacey Solomon reveals she was told off at National Television Awards for being late

Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday to share a few behind-the-scene moments of her time on the red carpet at the National Television Awards

Stacey Solomon revealed she was told off for being late at the National Television Awards after she stopped to chat to fans and take selfies with them.

The Loose Women panellist, 33, channelled her inner Barbie in a five-tiered tulle dress featuring a corset-style strapless top adorned with pink sequins for Tuesday night’s event held at London’s O2 Arena. When she arrived, the star posed for pictures on the red carpet and made sure to chat with fans standing at the sidelines waiting to meet their favourite stars.

Following the fun-filled event – which saw Loose Women lose to The Repair Shop – Stacey took to her Instagram page to share an update about what happened behind the scenes. Her team took videos of her on the red carpet and she shared some of them with her 5.7 million followers.

One clip showed her walking across the red carpet to chat with some of her beloved fans. She gave one person a hug as she talked to them before they leaned in close to take a selfie. Captioning the sweet clip, she wrote: “And by the time we got to the end of the carpet we were being told off for being late because we took over an hour chatting away to everyone along the way.”

The TV star also shared snaps of herself posing with her gorgeous sisters, Samantha and Jemma, as well as a short clip of her and her husband Joe Swash being ‘awkward’ as they posed for photos. Her final Instagram Story had her thanking her fans for ‘getting her there’ over a picture of her smiling on the red carpet.

“A little sum up of our red carpet adventure,” she said. “I don’t know if that was really boring but when I was little I always wondered what these things were actually like so this is it. Love you all. Thank you again for getting me here and being the best Insta family anyone could wish for.”

Ahead of the NTAs, Stacey candidly admitted that her anxieties and hormones were running high in anticipation of a rare child-free evening. In a whirlwind day of school runs, hormonal swings, and red-carpet glamour, the star who found fame on The X Factor shared her rollercoaster of emotions with her followers. “Did my first school drop off, came on my period, and after school pick up I’m off to the NTAs,” she candidly wrote over a snapshot of herself mid-workout. “My anxiety is high, hormones are raging and my emotions are all over the place. So I went for a run, with maybe a mild cry.”
