Ruth Langsford is yet to address her split from Eamonn Holmes in her own words but she still keeps her wedding ring close to hand and flashed it once again this afternoon

Ruth Langsford had her wedding ring firmly back on after she posed for a cheerful selfie weeks after her split from Eamonn Holmes.

The Loose Women star hasn’t been seen with it on since the days after she told the world she is splitting from her husband. The telly favourites, both 64, stunned fans last last month as they announced their divorce after 14 years of marriage, sending shockwave through showbiz.

Showing off her latest outfit on Instagram today, she flashed the band in a social media post earlier this afternoon. Letting her following get a look at her utility jacket, cargo trousers and wedge trainers she looked happy as she donned the blue look, with all the items from her own fashion range.

It’s now been alleged that Ruth found messages between her husband and another woman on a laptop. A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages. She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated. Not only was she very upset but she was also angry.”

The real reason for Ruth and Eamonn’s split was revealed by the Mirror. Friends close to the Loose Women presenter – who is taking time away from the ITV show to deal with the breakdown of her marriage – revealed that there is no going back for the couple. Ruth is taking the rest of the month off work while Eamonn has already resumed GB News presenting duties. She has been left “hurt” after finding out her husband is being consoled by another woman with whom he’s been on a string of outings.

The woman, who is in her forties, struck up a friendship with Eamonn over the past couple of years and he is said to have taken her to a safari park, a Manchester United game and a Beyonce gig. A friend of Ruth said: “Ruth was hurt when she learned about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman but she is strong and she will be back soon with a smile on her face, putting her best foot forward, as she always does. She needs a bit of time to regroup after everything that’s gone on, which is understandable, but she plans to return to Loose Women, with renewed vigour, in July.”

A spokesperson for Ruth has said: “Ruth had holiday time booked from Loose Women and has extended her leave. She’s looking forward to returning to the show in due course.” Eamonn was “terrified” of his wife during their relationship, according to mutual pal Liz Taylor.

During a chat with Liz on her podcast ‘Events That Made Me’ back in 2020, she revealed how she and Eamonn first met in the television industry, which was a “rocky start” for them both. Ruth said: “We have a healthy respect with what we do. I do smile sometimes because I think there were people, a lot in regional TV, who thought I got onto TV when I started seeing Eamonn, and that’s why I’m here.”

Liz replied amusingly: “What makes me laugh is he’s bloody terrified of you…,” sending Ruth into fits of laughter. In 2019, the couple shared what they believe are the secrets of their then-thriving marriage on the podcast ‘How To Stay Married’, reports the Express. Eamonn opened up about the key to a successful relationship, stating: “The secret is compromise, the secret is consideration and lots of conjugals.”
