Ruth Langsford has been spending her weekend with someone special amid her divorce from Eamonn Holmes – and has wrapped up to be ready for any weather condition

Ruth Langsford has been connecting with nature this weekend as she embraces her new life following her shock divorce announcement.

On Saturday, the Loose Women icon was wrapped up and ready for whatever the weather threw at her as she went for a walk in the park. Flashing a smile from beneath her all weather coat, Ruth revealed that she was with her true love as she got some fresh air and connected with nature.

She revealed she was walking her beloved dog, Maggie – who she has been battling for custody of following the news her marriage to Eamonn Holmes, 64, is over. Ruth uploaded content of herself with Maggie on Instagram Stories on Saturday and wrote: “Walking in the rain with the one I love!”

And the ladies enjoyed even more time together on Sunday – with Ruth sharing footage of Maggie merrily skipping her way through a park while on a lead. She uploaded the clip to her Stories along with a caption stating: “She’s sprightly today!” And she added an animated sign reading: “Autumn walk.”

It seems that dressing her dog to match her is another way to ensure fans can be aware just how much Ruth loves her pet. As she also revealed, via another photograph of herself wearing her warm coat: “Lots of you asking about my coat… I put the wrong tag yesterday. It’s from @wearedrybones. Super warm, super cool and waterproof! Maggie’s got one too!”

Ruth and Eamonn shocked their fans in May this year when it was announced they plan to divorce after 14 years of marriage. They confirmed their split through a representative, who said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

A bitter custody battle was then reported – as both broadcasters want to be able to claim ownership of their beloved dog. A source previously told The Sun: “Maggie is like a daughter to them. They dote on her. But she’s getting on and they know she needs stability.

“It’s a case of who can give her that. Eamonn adores her and Maggie’s been such a support during his health woes. The thought of giving her up is heartbreaking to him. But if Ruth is able to get out and about and walk her more, then it may well be that she gets Maggie in the split.

“They are adamant this won’t come to what Ant and Lisa went through and they won’t be getting lawyers involved.” Ruth and Eamonn are actual parents to a son named Jack, who is 22. However, prior to the split, Eamonn joked that his wife loved their pooch more than she loved him, as he quipped: “I genuinely have never experienced affection like it.”
