Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent three-day visit to Nigeria was met with mixed reviews by many commentators and experts.
Harry and Meghan lack the template the Royal Family has to carry out tours abroad
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced a furious backlash over their trip to Nigeria because of what a royal commentator described as a series of major “PR missteps.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on a three-day visit to the country to promote the work of the Invictus Games mere days after Harry celebrated the 10th anniversary of the competition.
However, Royal Family commentator Kinsey Schofield noted the visit highlighted the pair’s “insincerity” and their lack of preparation to conduct royal-like engagements.
She told TalkTV: “Meghan has really been criticised for the inappropriate way that she dressed. They showed up consistently late for these appearances and meetings.
“Even just Meghan grabbing a microphone and talking about herself instead of the environment or some of the heroes, the war heroes, the veterans she met throughout the process of Invictus Games.
“These are the type of errors that they’re making because they are rogue, fake royals and they don’t have the template that the real Royal Family has. And I think they are major PR missteps that show how insincere they are.”

Meghan’s plunging US popularity after unofficial royal tour exposes key trait
Celebs are now seeing Meghan Markle “for who she is” following her three-day visit to Nigeria with her husband, Prince Harry.
A columnist has slammed the Duchess of Sussex for her “unsuccessful” attempts at gaining popularity.
Daily Mail columnist, Maureen Callahan, told GB News that the “de facto royal tour” of Nigeria only “serves to knock them down further and further”.
While in the West African nation, the Sussexes promoted their Archewell Foundation’s mental health initiatives for young people and the Invictus Games, which Nigeria joined for the first time last year.
Despite their efforts to be seen, the columnist alleges that Meghan Markle has been absent from high-profile events in America, such as the Met Gala, despite Meghan’s reported ties with fashion mogul, Anna Wintour.
She added: “We recently had the Met Gala, and there were no shortage of starlets on that red carpet.”

Harry ‘upset’ as he’s pictured in LA after putting on brave face
Prince Harry seemed rather glum as he touched down in America with Meghan Markle, sparking comments from Royal watchers earlier this week.
A Royal expert has noted that Prince Harry appeared “downcast in LA” after maintaining a composed demeanor during his recent trip to the UK.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen at Los Angeles airport on Monday, arriving after a lengthy 18-hour flight from Nigeria.
It’s believed Harry had hoped for a meeting with his father during his UK visit, but the King’s packed schedule made it impossible.

It was their first visit since 2019, and they were invited by Nigeria’s chief of defence staff. They were also there to promote the Invictus Games, a sporting event for wounded, sick or injured veterans and serving military personnel.
During the visit, Meghan was seen wearing a beautiful diamond cross necklace, according to Crisscut Magazine. The necklace was from Princess Diana’s collection, and it was reportedly a gift from Prince Harry.

Prince Harry’s pal appears in Clarkson’s Farm despite presenter’s bombshell Meghan column
A once close friend of Prince Harry’s has appeared alongside Jeremy Clarkson on his hit TV show Clarkson’s Farm, in spite of his column about Meghan Markle.
Last year the journalist and TV host came under fire after his column in The Sun discussed his hatred for the Duchess of Sussex “on a cellular level”.
He added that he wanted to see Meghan paraded naked through the street while people threw excrement at her, comments which saw thousands of complaints made.
Mr Clarkson later apologised but a spokesperson for the Duke said: “What remains to be addressed is his long-standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny.”
However, Hugh van Cutsem, one of Harry’s closest pals for many years, appears on episode seven of the Amazon Prime show stalking deer with its star.

Key signs point to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘going rogue’ and acting like royals
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent trip to Nigeria has drawn fierce criticism from royal commentators who say they pair are pretending to be royals despite leaving the family in 2020.
On their three-day trip the couple met with charity organisations and politicians, and visited injured servicemen as part of events marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which Prince Harry co-founded.
Royal author and commentator Tom Quinn raged that it was treated like a royal visit rather than a personal trip, and said everything about it was “designed to give the impression that they are still fully paid-up royals”.
He said: “It’s as if Harry and Meghan have gone rogue and their Nigeria trip is a bold statement that they refuse to accept they are no longer working royals.
“William and Charles are scratching their heads and thinking, ‘How are we going to control this nightmare situation?’ William is absolutely furious and determined to find a way to stop this happening in future. Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him.

Do you think Meghan Markle wants to be president of the United States?
Meghan Markle has long been rumored to have been eyeing a career in politics, with previous unconfirmed reports suggesting that she’s been forging connections with top Democrats since stepping down from royal duties in 2020.
President Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, even previously reportedly “endorsed” Meghan as a woman she would back for the White House.
GB News recently reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s visit to Nigeria, dubbed the ‘Meghan Tour’, has been described as a potential “warm-up act” of what it would look like if Meghan ran for US President.
Speaking to GB News, royal expert Michael Cole has spoken about whether the former actress would ever consider running for the high-profile political role.
After giving examples of two others in similar positions to Meghan – such as Arnold Schwarzeneger – Mr Cole said: “Maybe this is, shall we say, the third act in the drama of her life. [The] first act being a successful actress in a legal soap, [the] second act [is] marrying a royal prince and becoming a royal duchess [and the] third act [is] politics.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘clown show’ leaves Firm ‘hanging on’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were branded a “clown show” by a royal commentator who claimed they have left the British monarchy “hanging by a thread”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made various headlines over the years with their explosive claims against the Firm ever since they quit their royal duties and moved to the US in 2020.

He added: “They are no longer working royals. They do not represent the King or our country and they’re undermining the good work, which our royals do in commonwealth countries.”
