Prince Harry’s ‘anxiousness’ around Meghan Markle exposed by one gesture, expert says

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman has claimed that the Duke of Sussex’s gestures in a number of photographs reveal Meghan Markle could be proving her “dominance” in the relationship

A body language expert has suggested that Prince Harry’s habit of holding Meghan Markle’s elbow or guiding her from behind could be a sign of his anxiety when in her presence.

Inbaal Honigman observed that the Duke of Sussex often exhibits this behaviour in photographs, interpreting it as Meghan showing her “dominance” within their dynamic.

Despite acknowledging the subtlety of the gesture, Inbaal argued to Woman magazine that leading the way forces Harry to follow, saying: “It’s a very subtle dominant gesture, as it isn’t aggressive or flashy, but walking ahead is still domineering because it doesn’t leave the other person much choice; they have got to fall behind.”

The expert further noted that Harry’s actions seem to be a form of “checking in” with Meghan, which she described as a “soothing” action. However, Inbaal also mentioned an “anxious aspect” to Harry’s manner of holding Meghan, suggesting it provides reassurance for both parties.

She elaborated on the prince’s instinctive need for comfort, stating: “The prince’s hand reaches out to hold on to his wife’s elbow even when he’s acknowledging other people. This tells us that the move isn’t a conscious decision on his part, rather an instinctive move which makes him feel safe.”

This analysis comes amidst swirling rumours of a potential split between the couple, claims which were firmly denied by Prince Harry at the 2024 New York Times DealBook Summit, reports the Express.

He also dismissed rumours that he and Meghan had separated or changed residences, saying: “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”.

There were previous reports suggesting the speculation started when the pair began to take on more solo engagements, although a source explained to Hello! Magazine that solo ventures were always part of their plan.

Last month, reports suggested Meghan Markle was left dismayed over assertions in a Vanity Fair article claiming she had intended to pen a book after an imagined divorce.

The article even suggested discussions with publishers to assess interest had already taken place, yet “no offer was ever made”, while emphasising that the Royal couple are still “deeply in love”.

However, as reported by OK!, an insider close to Meghan revealed: “Meghan was devastated when she saw all of these reports about a ‘post-divorce’ book coming out.”

They said Meghan understands there’s “no truth to them” and finds it “upsetting” to be persistently surrounded by negativity, adding that she’s “sick and tired” of the separation rumours.

“Meghan knows that the rumours always make their fans worry about a split, and she doesn’t like that sort of negativity being spread,” the source revealed to OK!.
