Loose Women pulled off air early in schedule shake-up

ITV’s Loose Women was cut short on Tuesday in yet another TV schedule shake-up

ITV’s Loose Women was back on air on Tuesday with Sunetra Sarker leading the panel – but she had an important announcement at the start of the show about the programme.

For the hour-long show was being cut short by 30 minutes. The former Strictly and Casualty star told viewers that they would have to pack the show into just 30 minutes as the schedules made way for racing live from Goodwood from 1.30pm after the lunchtime news bulletin which was being moved forward to 1pm.

Sunetra was joined on the panel by Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and Janet Street-Porter. Moments into the programme, Janet shut down rumours that she’s set to appear as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2024.

The Loose Women panel had a lot to squeeze in to 30 minutesDespite the show being cut short, the panel managed to squeeze in a number of topics including the harrowing events in Southport, their relationships with their dads and whether or not they hide treats from their loved ones at home.

ITV is not the only channel which is facing day-time schedule changes this week. On Monday, BBC Breakfast was halted midway on BBC1 and switched to BBC2 to make way for the day’s Olympics coverage.

Viewers weren’t happy with the decision with one venting on social media: ” So #BBCBreakfast moves across to BBC2, because 17 hours of Olympics are now on BBC1, and immediately repeats all yesterday’s Olympic news they’ve already covered, ad nauseum, since 6am! Perhaps those that need this will still be on BBC1? Give us an alternative to sport, please!”
