ITV Loose Women viewers in disbelief as Dame Kelly Holmes wears £750 skirt that ‘looks like a towel’

Loose Women viewers couldn’t believe their eyes when the panel discussed a controversial new Balenciaga skirt worth up to £750 which ‘looks like a towel’

Dame Kelly Holmes left Loose Women viewers in hysterics during Wednesday’s show as she modelled a viral towel skirt.

The 53-year-old former athlete showed off the Loose Women panel’s version of Balenciaga designer Demna Gvasalia controversial towel skirt which is being sold for a staggering £750.

ITV viewers were left in disbelief as the panel debated whether or not the Balenciaga designer was ‘trolling’ consumers with the seemingly ridiculous new fashion trend – which many have argued simply looks like a ‘dirty bath towel’ wrapped around your waist.

The designer brand is well-known for it’s scandals and it’s controversial and random trends that it sets, however, the latest towel skirt addition has left people scratching their heads.

In a bid to jump on the bandwagon, the Loose ladies decided to recreate their own version, but for less than £20 as Dame Kelly stepped out in her own take on the look with a Marks & Spencer cotton towel.

After witnessing the sheer fashion chaos on Loose Women, viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reactions.

“I have a towel I’ve had for twenty years and it’s in bits and it looks better than this s***. What is going on in the world of fashion!! This is a joke,” one fumed.

“OMG there are people literally starving on the streets and some idiots would actually fork out that much money to wear a TOWEL??? Come on now,” someone else echoed.

Another Loose Women viewer quipped: “Even my £5 Primark towel looks better than that. But you won’t catch me wearing it outside of the house.”

“This is an absolute joke,” another viewer snapped, while someone else added: “What the heck????? Surely this can’t be real.”

Speaking to Vogue Magazine back in February, the controversial designer said: “I have decided to go back to my roots in fashion as well as to the roots of Balenciaga, which is making quality clothes – not making image or buzz.”
