Loose Women star Linda Robson has revealed that she is spending Christmas at her daughter’s house instead of her own home following the tragic split with her husband of 33 years
Loose Women star Linda Robson has revealed that she will be breaking tradition by spending Christmas at her eldest daughter’s house, following the breakdown of her marriage.
The daytime ITV panelist, 65, told viewers of her change to her festive plans during her appearance on Loose Women today [22 December]. Along with Kaye Adams, Jane Moore and Judi Love, Linda was discussing whether to have your phone on during Christmas Day, when she let slip her plans. She said: “At my house there won’t be any phones, well its not actually my house this year it’s Lauren’s house, but normally in my house it’s no phones. “She added: “So we take the phones off them until later that day and we have a nice peaceful family time.” She continued: “But my grandchildren are addicted to phones. So Lila’s 11, she’s just got a phone for the first time. And Betsy’s seven and Betsy is not allowed on her laptop until the weekend or any mobile phones and she’s like on Monday, ‘is it the weekend yet’ and [Linda says] no we’ve got another five days. And honestly it just sort of takes over your life because I was addicted to the phone myself.”
Back in September this year, the star confirmed her separation from husband Mark Dunford in a candid chat with a magazine. She said that she’s “feeling fine” and is attempting to “keep busy.” Linda and Mark first met when they were teenagers but didn’t start dating until many years later. The couple tied the knot in 1990 and share two children together, Roberta, 27, and Louis, 31. But Linda has a daughter from a previous relationship, named Lauren.
In an interview with Woman magazine, she said: “He’s a really good dad and we had some good years, but enough is enough. I’m not interested [in dating] honestly. I can’t be a***d with all that.” Linda’s confirmation comes after she dismissed rumours of a split at the time as “rubbish.” She said on the ITV show: “That’s a load of rubbish. We’re still living together. We both love our kids more than anything else in the world, obviously you have a few hiccups in every marriage. We’ve been married 33 years so it’s not going to be all plain sailing, but we’re still together at the moment.”
In August this year, she made a cryptic comment about the state of her marriage when discussing how she spent her weekend. Linda revealed on Loose Women that she took herself out for dinner as all the kids had flown the nest and the only people she was at home with was her dog and her husband, before she highlighted the order in which she told her story. She added: “Notice the order!” Linda had mentioned her dog before her husband, making the other Loose Women stars break out in hysterics.
