ITV I’m a Celebrity star leaves eye-watering amount to kids in will after incredible career success

Annabel Giles passed away last year, and a court decided to leave her estate to her two children in the absence of a will from the TV star

Annabel Giles, who died on November 20 last year at the age of 64, has left an astonishing amount of money to her two children, despite not writing a will.

The former I’m a Celebrity star was diagnosed with stage four Glioblastoma in July 2023, a fast-growing and malignant brain tumour, and underwent “countless radiotherapies” as well as brain surgery. Unfortunately, Annabel passed, survived by her daughter and son.

Annabel’s daughter, Molly, was born in March 1987. The actress shared Molly with her ex-husband – Ultravox lead singer Midge Ure – to whom she was married from 1985 and 1989. Alongside Molly, Annabel had a younger son, Ted, who was born in 1998, and whose father wasn’t publicly revealed by Annabel.

Following Annabel’s death, Molly and Ted received more than £400,000 from the mum’s estate, according to The Sun. Decided in court, documents revealed Annabel’s estate at the time of her death was worth £769,000. After deductions, the remaining funds – an enormous £430,320 – went to her kids.

Annabel reportedly didn’t have a will or a declaration of intent, but on Monday the High Court judged that the money should go to her children. Molly and Ted expressed their love for their mum after her death, explaining how she passed and sharing an emotional tribute to the public figure.

Their joint statement read: “It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our incredible mother, Annabel Giles, who passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon at Martlets Hospice in Hove. In July, Mum was diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma, a fast-growing and highly aggressive malignant brain tumour.

“In the four months that followed, she displayed remarkable resilience and strength, despite undergoing brain surgery and countless radiotherapies. In her final weeks, she was passionate about raising awareness for Glioblastoma, embodying her lifelong commitment to helping others.”

After sharing that Annabel died peacefully, her two children then wrote a heartbreaking description of the TV star. “Mum was truly one of a kind, an enigma to those privileged to share her life,” they wrote, adding, “True to her nature, she kept spirits high and maintained her quick wit until the very end. Her humour and laughter will leave us inspired to live life to the fullest, just as she always did.”

In their final comments, Molly and Ted asked for loved ones and fans to consider donating to Martlets Hospice, where Annabel spent her final days. “We thank you for your love and support and kindly request that you respect our privacy at this challenging time. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we would be grateful for donations to Martlets Hospice, whose exceptional care was a great source of comfort throughout this journey. With heartfelt thanks, Molly & Ted x.”
